The present invention relates to a spider (1) for laundry treating machines equipped with a rotary drum (C), said spider (1) being fitted with multiple arms (2,2A,2B) extending radially from a common hub (4), wherein the free end of the arms (2, 2A, 2B) comprises a seat (6,6A, 6B) adapted to house a screw (7) for engaging said drum (C), wherein said housing seat (6,6A, 6B) is defined by perimetric wall portions (16,26,36), each extending on a semicylindrical profile. The present invention relates to a front-loading household washing machine (1), in particular a laundry washing or washing/drying machine, comprising a cabinet (2) within which a wash tub (3) is arranged, and having a load opening (5) that can be closed by a door (6) constrained to said cabinet (2), said door (6) comprising a porthole glass (61) adapted to fit at least partly into said load opening (5) and a frame (62) supporting said porthole glass (61). Described is a method for washing articles placed in a washing compartment of a washing appliance, the method involving the implementation by the washing appliance (1) of a first procedure comprising the steps of : subjecting the articles located in the washing compartment (2) to a mechanical wash; applying a chemical detergent in aqueous solution in the form of a nebulized spray inside the washing compartment (2) so as to subject the articles to a chemical wash; in the first procedure the nebulized spray of aqueous solution is applied in the washing compartment (2) after completing the mechanical wash.

The present invention relates to a washing machine (2), in particular a laundry washing or washing/drying machine or a dishwasher, comprising: a tub (3) adapted to contain a wash liquid (4), an electric resistance (1) for heating the wash liquid (4), a temperature sensor (5) for detecting the temperature of the wash liquid (4), wherein the resistance (1) and the temperature sensor (5) are put in a condition of thermal exchange by conduction. The invention also relates to a method for evaluating whether the resistance is emerged from or submerged in the wash liquid and to a method for removing calcareous deposits (17) from an electric resistance (1) adapted to heat a wash liquid (4) in a washing machine (2), in particular a laundry washing or washing/drying machine or a dishwasher, characterized in that the resistance (1) is subjected to at least one heating and cooling cycle while the resistance (1) is kept above the wash liquid (4).
