    Abstract: A latch assembly is provided with a child lock mechanism having a spring system including a first spring member and a separate second spring member that requires a first force to move the child lock mechanism from an off position to an on position and a second force to move the child lock mechanism from the on position to the off position, wherein the required second force is greater than the required first force, thereby indicating to a user by tactile feedback the relative position (on/off) the child lock mechanism is in, thereby assuring intended movement of the child lock mechanism from one of the on/off positions to the other.

    Abstract: A powered actuator unit for use in a closure system of a motor vehicle. The powered actuator unit includes a common housing configured to house a brushless DC (BLDC) electronic motor unit, a gear drive unit, a shift support arrangement, and a controller arrangement. The motor unit has a stator unit that includes a plurality of electromagnetic subassemblies each having a carrier and a winding unit. The carrier includes an outer ring segment being planar and an inner ring segment being arcuate and a web segment interconnecting the outer ring segment and the inner ring segment and the plurality of electromagnetic subassemblies are each adapted to abut one another in an annular arrangement upon assembly.     Abstract: A closure latch assembly for a motor vehicle closure panel is equipped with a common kinematic chain of components for a latch release mechanism utilizing a first range of handle travel to initiate a power release of a latch mechanism and further utilizing a second range of handle travel to initiate a mechanical release of the latch mechanism. An actuation rod may include a magnet that, when moved out of range of a sensor, signals to initiate the power release. In the event that the power release does not occur, further movement of the actuation rod forces the mechanical release. In both the power release and mechanical release, a pawl is rotated from a ratchet holding position to a ratchet release position. The actuation rod may have a first segment connected to a door handle and a second segment connected to a key cylinder, where either segment may provide the mechanical release.

    Abstract: A window regulator system for a window coupled to a door and movable between fully open and closed positions and a short drop position and method of operation are disclosed. The system includes rails with window regulator lifter plate assemblies being moveable along the rails by cables. A motor winds the cables to move the window. An electronic control unit detects operation of at least one of a door handle and a latch of the door to identify a short drop request corresponding to the door shut or opened. The electronic control unit ensures that no freeplay exists in the window regulator system to provide accurate movement of the window and controls the motor to selectively raise the window to the fully closed position in response to the door being shut and temporarily lower the window to the short drop position in response to identifying the short drop request.

    Abstract: A closure latch assembly having a latch mechanism is provided.     Abstract: A weather strip formed from at least two materials having distinct physical properties and a corresponding glass run channel. In particular, the weather strip includes a base portion and two sidewalls located on opposite edges of the base portion. The base portion and sidewalls each include a strip of first material and joints between the base portion and the sidewalls each include a strip of second material more flexible than the first material. The weather strip further includes at least one projection and the glass run channel includes at least one opening for establishing a press fit engagement with the at least one projection. In addition to the first two materials, the weather strip may also be formed of an additional third material having a low friction index and located to come into direct contact with a windowpane.     Abstract: A linear actuator assembly for a closure panel of a vehicle comprising: a linear actuator for mounting in an interior of a frame of the closure panel and having an extensible member for extending through an aperture in the frame, the extensible member configured for extension and retraction with respect to the interior along a linear axis of the linear actuator, the frame having the aperture on a shut face; a sealing member for positioning on the shut face adjacent to the extensible member for inhibiting foreign matter from entering the interior from an exterior of the frame, the sealing member inhibiting lateral movement of the extensible member with respect to the linear axis; and a linkage operationally first connecting at one end to the extensible member and for operationally second connecting at another end to a body of the vehicle adjacent to the closure panel, such that both the one end and the another end are located externally to the interior of the frame being both to one side of the aperture.
