Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for supplying state information of a mobile station in a mobile communication system is provided to set a maximum limit value and a minimum limit value when sending information on an amount of buffer of a mobile station to a base station, thereby effectively informing the base station of the buffer information. CONSTITUTION: 8-bit information is transmitted to a frame quality display(101). The frame quality display(101) further adds an error detection code to the 8-bit information, and outputs the 8-bit information added with the error detection code. The outputted information is inputted to an encoder tail bit adder(102), to add predetermined bits for convergence. The information added with encoder tail bits is inputted to a convolution encoder(103). The convolution encoder(103) convolution-encodes the inputted information. A block interleaver(104) interleaves the encoded information. A modulator(105) modulates the interleaved information, and transmits the modulated information to a base station.

PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling a throughput of reverse packet data in a mobile communication system are provided to differently interpret a rate control signal according to a case of ACK or NAK, thereby sending rate assignment-related information even during an NAK transmission. CONSTITUTION: An error detector(601) receives packet data to output information showing whether the packet data has an error. A rate processor(602) compares a rate of the received packet data with externally inputted control information, and determines whether to control the rate. A response channel signal point processor(603) maps a response signal corresponding to the error information with a preset signal, and outputs the mapped signals. When error generation information is outputted, a rate control channel signal point processor(604) maps a rate control signal with a preset signal, and outputs the mapped signals. An approval rate coder(605) codes a rate value outputted from the rate processor(604), and outputs the coded rate value.

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a reverse link in a mobile communication system is provided to differently carry out a power control according to a kind of a multimedia service, so that a base station can easily conduct a scheduling process while managing continuously received data. CONSTITUTION: More than two multimedia services are set(100). A mobile station receives channel assign information from a base station at certain intervals(110). The mobile station determines packet data to be transmitted(120), and configures control information of the packet data(130). The mobile station transmits the packet data and the control information through a preset channel(140). The mobile station checks whether all the services are completed(150). If so, the mobile station completes the multimedia services.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for transmitting/receiving coded symbols in a mobile communication system supporting HARQ(Hybrid Automatic Retransmission reQuest) are provided to obtain a time diversity effect by transmitting coded symbols at a different time. CONSTITUTION: A subpacket symbol selection unit(1105) determines a size of each coded symbol determined according to a reverse transmission rate. A QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) modulator(1106) modulates the coded symbols each with a determined size according to a predetermined method. A symbol distributor(1107) separates the modulated symbols into systematic bits and parity bits, or separates the parity bits into similar types. A symbol multiplexer(1108) multiplexes symbols which can be coupled among the separated symbols. A Walsh spreader(1109) spreads an output of the symbol distributor(1107) to a pre-set length of orthogonal spread code. A Walsh spreader(1110) spreads an output of the symbol multiplexer(1108) to a different pre-set length of orthogonal spread code.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for controlling an outer loop power of a packet non-transmission interval in a packet communication system is provided to stably perform an outer loop power control in coping with a quick fading. CONSTITUTION: Data packets and data rate indication information for indicating a transmission rate of the data packets are transmitted to a base station. When there is no more data to be transmitted, the first null data rate information is continuously transmitted during a certain time interval in order to inform the base station about entering a packet non-transmission interval. After the first null data rate information is transmitted, the following null data rate information is periodically transmitted so that the base station can control outer loop power of the packet non-transmission interval.

PURPOSE: A power control method using control information in a mobile communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to allow a base station to perform external circulation power controlling according to error detection information with respect to control information on a traffic channel received from a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: 8-bit control information generated for every frame is stored in a control information storing unit(910). A CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Code) generator(950) generates 8-bit CRC by using control information generated from the latest four frames. The generated 8-bit CRC is inputted to and stored in a CRC storing unit(960) until the next CRC is generated. 8-bit control information transmitted for every frame is inputted together with 2 bits, that has not been transmitted yet, of the CRC generated from the previous frame to a coder and coded therein(920). PURPOSE: A system and method for distributively controlling traffic in a mobile communication system are provided to effectively control a mobile terminal in handover and a mobile terminal not in handover. CONSTITUTION: Uplink control function parts(201-20N) control uplink transmission rate of a Non-SHO(Soft Hand Over) mobile terminal. A control function part(210) of a BSC(Base Station Controller) controls base stations that has been performed up to now and controls an uplink transmission rate of a SHO(Soft Hand Over) mobile terminal. The control function part(210) checks whether allocation of a new transmission rate control channel is necessary and at the same time checks whether allocation of an ACK channel is necessary. When a mobile terminal in handover enters into a specific base station, the control function part(210) instructs each corresponding base station control function part(201-20N) to which the mobile terminal belongs to individually control the uplink transmission rate of the mobile terminal.

PURPOSE: A backward transmitting apparatus and method in a mobile communication system supporting a composite automatic re-transmission method is provided to reduce interference to other users in re-transmitting data in a backward direction. CONSTITUTION: When a mobile terminal has traffic data to be transmitted in a backward direction, it initially transmits the traffic data with a supplementary channel(301). A base station checks whether there is an error in the traffic data(302). If there is an error in the traffic data, the base station transmits a determined new TPR(Traffic to Pilot power Ratio) value together with an NACK signal indicating that there is an error in the traffic data to the mobile terminal(303). The mobile terminal receives the NACK signal and the TPR value(304). The mobile terminal re-transmits the traffic data according to the received TPR value(305). The base station combines the re-transmitted traffic data with the initially transmitted traffic data(306). The base station checks whether there is an error in the data. If there is no error in the traffic data, the base station generates an ACK signal indicating that there is no error, and transmits it to the mobile terminal with the backward supplementary channel(307). The mobile terminal receives the ACK signal and stops re-transmission of the traffic data(308).

PURPOSE: A device of transceiving information indicating data transmission rates of a mobile communication system is provided to allocate the number of bits to the information as necessary, and to transmit the bits, thereby lowering an encoding rate. CONSTITUTION: SCH(Supplemental Channel) memories(306,307) store data transmission rates to be transmitted through each channel for data transmission. A controller(301) determines the number of channels for data transmission, and determines a maximum data transmission rate from combined data transmission rates. The controller(301) generates information indicating a transmission rate having a minimum bit number necessary for expressing data transmission rates that are smaller than or the same as the maximum data transmission rate among the combined data transmission rates. A variable rate block encoder(302) encodes the information according to an encoding rate decided by the generated indicating information, and outputs the information. A sequence repetition block(303) repeats the encoded information as many as a preset frequency. A signal point mapping block(304) converts a signal of the repeated information. A spreader(305) orthogonally spreads the signal-converted information, and transmits the information.
