Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for processing synchronously a motion picture and position information and a GIS(Geographical Information System) using the same are provided to identify the map information from images by synchronizing and multiplexing the motion picture and the position information. CONSTITUTION: The image information and the position information are simultaneously obtained and synchronized by applying the same synchronous signal to an image acquisition device(110) and a position acquisition device(120). A time stamp synchronized with the synchronous signal is added to the obtained image information bit stream and the obtained position information bit stream. The synchronized image information bit stream and the synchronized position bit stream are stored into a storage portion(150).
