Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The UE may receive a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) that schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) in a slot, and on a component carrier (CC) of a plurality of CCs, The PDCCH may include a total downlink assignment index (DAI) and a counter DAI for hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback of the PDSCH. The total DAI may indicate a total number of pairs of CCs and slots for the HARQ-ACK feedback. The UE may encode the HARQ-ACK feedback to include a bit that indicates whether the PDSCH is successfully decoded. A size of the HARQ-ACK feedback may be based on the total DAI, and a position of the bit may be based on the counter DAI.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may reside in a state of dual connectivity with a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG), wherein the radio access technologies of the MCG and the SCG are different. While in the dual connectivity state, the UE device may transition to a mode of reduced activity (e.g., processing and/or RF activity) relative to the secondary cell group (SCG) in order to save power, e.g., when traffic flow via the SCG is below a threshold, or when scheduling activity on the SCG is low. Various mechanisms may be employed to reduce activity, e.g., mechanisms such as reduction of beam monitoring, deactivation of secondary cells of the SCG, reduction of number of active antenna elements, employment of longer periods for periodic measurement and reporting processes, etc.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a UE to determine a UL spatial relation for an UL transmission in response to an unknown UL spatial relation switch. The UE may determine whether the UL spatial relation is based on an SRS transmission in UL, a CSI-RS in DL, or an SSB in the DL. If the UL spatial relation is based on the SRS transmission, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission corresponding to a Tx beam of the SRS transmission. If the UL spatial relation is based on the CSI-RS or the SSB, the UE may select the UL spatial relation for the UL transmission based on whether the unknown UL spatial relation switch s due to a corresponding resource for beam training not being configured by a communication network or a corresponding beam information being expired.

Abstract: A base station may transmit beam indication information to one or more user equipment (UE) devices. For each of a plurality of time units (e.g., symbols) in a time interval (e.g., spanning one or more slots), the beam indication information indicates a corresponding beam that the base station will use to transmit or receive. A UE device may have knowledge of the beam in which it currently resides, e.g., by performing power measurements during a beam scan procedure. Thus, the beam indication information enables the UE to perform transmissions and/or receptions (e.g., configured transmissions and/or receptions) during the appropriate time unit(s). The beam indication information may be dynamically transmitted as part of downlink control information. This transmission may omni-directional, wide beam, or narrow beam. Various schemes of encoding the beam indication information are contemplated.
