Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high-reliable optical head capable of simplifying its assembly process and eliminating its adjustment process, and small in a secular change or a temperature change, and to attain miniaturization by drastically combining functions. CONSTITUTION:An optical path length adjusting function which makes the optical path length of a going luminous flux 101f different from the optical path length of a returning luminous flux 101r, polarization separating function which detects an magneto-optical signal, or luminous flux reflecting function which guides one part of a luminous flux to a second light receiving element 170 for detecting an emitting power are set on an integrated optical member 120. The optical member is used as the cover of a package 80 of an optical head 1, and the light receiving element 170 or a light emitting element 10 are integrally housed. Thus, the initial offset of a focusing error signal can be removed, and the adjustment can be eliminated. Also, the detection of the magneto-optical signal or the emitting power can be attained by the integrated optical head.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate influence of stray light by covering the inside of a package in which a semiconductor laser chip is secured and protected, with a member in which a laser beam is scarcely reflected. CONSTITUTION:Divergent light is converted into a parallel light beam by a collimator lens 110, incident on a hologram element, and the transmitted light is condensed on a recording medium by a condensing optical system to record and reproduce information. A light reflected on the medium is partly diffracted by the hologram element 111, and passed through optical paths 108, 108 by the lens 110, and condensed on a photodetector 105. Thus, a servo error signal is detected, and the information is detected as a reproduced signal. A light 105 radiated outside from a window 102 of a package is emitted to a black nonreflecting member 103, and not then disordered in the package. Accordingly, the incident light on the package is not incident as stray light to a signal detecting sensor 105, but an excellent error signal having a small offset can be detected.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively correct and display, according to the request of a user, a data reproduced at a replay-only part by utilizing a direct storage device which is provided with a rewritable part and the replay-only part. CONSTITUTION:When instructions for a correction are issued from a correction instruction means 6 in the case of the correction, a part instructed for the correction and a corresponding position inside a file are obtained. An empty region in a rewritable part is detected from a space management table in a direct access storage device 5; a correction content is written; a correction management table is renewed by a space-compliance means 4. In the case of the display request of the file, the file is corrected by the correction management table which has been written; it is investigated whether the correction content exists in the rewritable part. When it has been corrected, the correction content is read out. When it has not been corrected, the content in a replay-only part is read out; the read-out content is displayed by a data display means 2. Thereby, a data can be corrected and displayed according to the request of a user.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform sure erasure even without using a high power laser, by pulse-driving a semiconductor laser by a pulse generation circuit to generate an erasing signal by an erasing pulse that channel bit clocks are summed. CONSTITUTION:A channel bit clock generation circuit 1, the pulse generation circuit 2 to generate the erase signal by the erasing pulse that the channel bit clocks are summed, and a pulse current driving circuit 3 to pulse-drive the semiconductor laser 4 by the pulse generation circuit 2, are provided. A disk clock 9 obtained from a recording medium is inputted to a pulse comparison circuit 14 from a terminal 7. Then, a bias current supplied from a bias current control circuit 6 and a current made flow in from the pulse current drive circuit 3 are summed. Thus, since the laser is pulse-driven at the time of the erasure when the largest power is required, the life of the semiconductor laser is prolonged, and the semiconductor laser of lower allowable power can be used.

CONSTITUTION:The fine adjustment mechanism 117 for the condensing means having a revolving and sliding shaft 116 and the parallel luminous flux generating means 102 are disposed on the same side with respect to the Y-axis, by which the space is effectively utilized. The light reflected by a luminous flux separating means 104 is guided through a light receiving element 106 and a light quantity stabilizing circuit 107 to stabilize the output light quantity of a semiconductor laser 101. A mirror 118 consisting of a high reflection part and low reflection part having a distinct parting line is provided to the mechanism 117 and the detection and control of the tracking control are executed by a change in the quantity of the light of a light emitting part 119 and a light receiving part 120. The optical pickup which is small in size, has high stability in the quantity of light, outputs a servo signal of low noise and permits offset correction of the servo signal, is thus obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the increase of a crosstalk due to the extension of the recording bit by setting the entire surface of the recording film of a magneto- optical disk in the same magnetizing direction as said recording bit and performing the recording/reproducing/erasing operations on a guide groove. CONSTITUTION:The layer light is projected on a groove 1 together with the application of a magnetic field Hw and the magnetizing direction of a heated part is coincident with the magnetizing direction of the area 2 between grooves 1. Thus the heated part serves as a recording bit. In an erasion mode a magnetic field adverse to the field Hw of the recording mode is applied to the groove 1 together with the irradiation of the laser light. Thus the magnetizing direction of the area on the groove 1 is set equal to that of the area 2. In such a case, the laser power and the applied magnetic field are reduced compared with those of the recording mode in order to avoid the change of the magnetizing direction of the area 2. Therefore, the magnetizing direction of the groove 1 is kept coincident with that of the area 2 despite the increase of the bit length. As a result, the substantial bit width has no change and the increase of the crosstalk is suppressed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize the radiation power regardless of the return light without increasing the scale of constitution by providing a photodiode at a desired position. CONSTITUTION:A photodiode 9 is set between a semiconductor laser chip 1 and a coupling lens 3 and therefore the radiation power is satisfactorily monitored regardless of the return light. Based on this monitoring result, a semiconductor laser driving circuit 11 undergoes the negative feedback control. Thus the radiation power is stabilized regardless of the return light without increasing the scale of constitution.
