Abstract:
An apparatus for filtering an industrial slurry, a non-suspended mixture of solid particulate matter and liquid produced by an industrial process, is disclosed. A method and system for filtering an industrial slurry and recycling liquid filtrate are additionally disclosed. One example of an apparatus for filtering an industrial slurry can include a receptacle, a false bottom disposed within the receptacle and containing an effluent exit, and a filter disposed within the effluent exit.
Abstract:
A portable oil filtration unit 10 comprising a tank section 11 and a pump and filter unit 12 and an electrical control box 13. Operational switches are illustrated generally at 14. The unit is equipped with an inlet lance or wand 15 and an outlet lance or wand 16. The lances are located in position so that the lances have their ends at the bottom of a tank located in the tank housing 11. Thus when the unit is in a filtration mode and the pump turned on, oil will circulate from the tank through each of the lances and through the filtration unit.
Abstract:
Fluid processing apparatuses and systems are disclosed. In some embodiments the fluid processing apparatuses include a movable enclosure, a plurality of filter housings disposed substantially within the movable enclosure, and a stand disposed within the enclosure. The filter housings are in fluid communication with one another. Each filter housing defines an elongate path and is configured to support a respective filter along the elongate flow path to filter a substantially continuous flow of fluid. The stand supports each filter housing such that the elongate flow path of each filter housing is substantially parallel to a vertical axis, wherein each filter housing is independently rotatable, relative to the stand.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a liquid filter system that includes a liquid filter apparatus configured to self-clean without removal of the filter apparatus from the filter system. The filter apparatus uses both a filter media for filtering solids as well as a spin motion imparted to fluid being filtered so that centrifugal force can remove solids from the liquid being filtered. The liquid filter system also includes a gas pulse nozzle in fluid communication with the liquid filter apparatus and is configured to flow gas into the filter media to expel water and debris trapped in the filter media without removing the filter media from the filter system.
Abstract:
A filter system including a vacuum source for generating a vacuum flow and a container. The container includes an inflow port for receiving contaminated liquids and solids, a filter assembly for filtering contaminated solids from the contaminated liquids and an outflow port for delivering filtered liquids from the container. The vacuum flow proceeds through the container so that the filtered liquids are drawn through the filter assembly towards the outflow port. The contaminated solids receive vacuum pressure continuously to complete the filter process above the top filter.
Abstract:
A container for facilitating solid phase-liquid phase separation has all corrosive resistant materials on the liquid-contacting surfaces. A center wall of polyethylene is provided to increase the surface area available for separation. Support structure for the filter medium includes either a poly grate or a poly cuspated plastic or a combination thereof. Poly connectors and drain lines complete the structure ensuring that the container has high durability and will provide a long, corrosion-free life. A specially formulated highly lubricious material (high molecular weight polyethylene) is utilized for the poly walls to enable rapid clean out of the container.
Abstract:
A portable lubricant filtration system and method is provided for facile pre-filtering of used or new lubricant prior to pumping the lubricant into its intended machinery.
Abstract:
A filtration system comprising a floor panel and a plurality of wall panels connected to each other to define a box, at least one filtering wall vertically inclined and supported inward of a corresponding wall panel such as to define a first free space therebetween, a filtering floor horizontally inclined and supported above the floor panel such as to define a second free space therebetween, the filtering floor being connected to the filtering wall to define a filter chamber, a plurality of openings defined in the filtering wall and the filtering floor sized to let a liquid pass through and retain at least one target solid within the filter chamber, an inlet in fluid communication with the filter chamber, and an outlet in fluid communication with the first and second free spaces. A method of filtering at least one target solid from a liquid is also provided.
Abstract:
A device enabling the timely removal and subsequent recycling of residues remaining in a pouring chute through which the load of a cement from a mixing drum of a mobile delivery vehicle was discharged. A strainer on a movable arm attached to the vehicle is placed under the chute to receive an effluent which results from spraying the inside of the nozzle with water. Solid particulates are retained by the strainer and a slurry which emerges from the strainer is pumped into the mixing drum, allowing the separated materials to be recycled when the vehicle returns to its base.
Abstract:
An apparatus for removing formation sand from an oil storage tank. The apparatus is mounted to a truck towable trailer so that it may be transported to remote sites. Mounted to the truck towable trailer is a container adapted to accept and dewater a sand-water slurry pumped from the oil storage tank. The slurry is formed by injecting high pressure water from a water reservoir mounted to the truck towable trailer into the approximate centre of mass of the formation sand by way of a pipe having a nozzle generating a spherical spray pattern within the slurry. The pipe is forced into the slurry by way of a two counter-rotating drive wheels in frictional contact with the pipe. Included in the apparatus is a bifurcated conduit adapted for attachment to the storage tank drain port adapted for the injection of high pressure through one branch of the conduit and withdrawal of slurry from the other branch and into the container by way of a slurry pump. The dewatering of the slurry takes place by a plurality of screen filters mounted to the bottom, side and front inside walls of the container. Oil and water extracted from the slurry is recycled back into the storage tank for later removal and treatment. All pumps and conduits are mounted to the truck towable trailer so that the apparatus is self-contained.
