Abstract:
A method and apparatus for washing laundry without hot water and detergent using a closed loop ozonated wash water system wherein wash water maintained in a storage tank is ozonated by an ozone generator prior to use in a washing machine. The spent wash water is collected, filtered and reused thereby eliminating waste water disposal problems an resulting in considerable water and energy savings. The ozone generator includes a unique air flow configuration to maximize ozone generation resulting in a high efficiency washing system.

Abstract:
A process for the treatment of water in which at least a partial flow of the water is brought into contact under pressure in a packed column with an ozone-oxygen mixture from an ozonizer with the ozone and a portion of the oxygen being dissolved in the water and the undissolved oxygen being returned to the ozonizer and with the charged water being withdrawn from the column, includes branching off a partial flow from the column water to a water jet-gas compressor in which the ozone-oxygen mixture from the ozonizer is adsorbed and compresed and mixed with the partial flow after which the mixture of water, ozone and oxygen is led into the base of the packed column.
Abstract:
A bath water treating system in which even higly resistant germs may be destroyed by treating the bath water with ozone and a halogen compound such as bromine or hydrobromic acid to establish a redox potential in excess of 600 mV. The bath water is recycled through a quartz type filter loaded with a composite filtering medium. The filtering medium comprises two superposed layers, a lower layer consisting of a mixture of filter gravel and mineralized charcoal, and an upper layer of activated charcoal. A halogen or halogen compound is adsorbed in the charcoal layer. An ozone generator is mounted within the filter housing. The bath-tub assembly comprises a cabinet in which are mounted a bath-tub, a filtering and degerminating unit and the respective accessories and controls. The ozonizer is removably mounted within the filter housing and includes a mixing chamber and check valves.
Abstract:
An ejector type gas-liquid mixing apparatus having a valve for feeding a gas, which does not adversely affect the main gas-liquid mixing operation, into the gas feed system thereof, when the pressure of the gas feed system decreases below a predetermined value, wherein the valve is disposed between an aspirating inlet of the ejector and the gas feeder. Thus, in an apparatus for mixing a liquid and ozone using an ejector, which comprises a first pipe system for connecting the ejector and an ozone generator, a second pipe system for connecting a reaction vessel for separating the unreacted ozone from the gas-liquid mixture fluid fed from the ejector, an exhaust ozone removing device for removing the unreacted ozone, and such check valve connecting the first and second pipe systems, any ozone leaked from the check valve is removed by the exhaust ozone removing device and counterflowing liquid from the aspirating inlet of the ejector to the gas feed system is prevented.
Abstract:
A two-stage treatment process for destroying per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in an aqueous stream. The two-stage treatment process uses a combination of multifunctional crystalline molecular sieves, such as zeolites and zeotypes, to separate PFAS from the aqueous stream, catalytically decompose and defluorinate any PFAS molecules, and generate non-toxic waste products that are safe for disposal. The first stage includes adsorption of the PFAS within one of a pair of vessels containing porous, hydrophobic, hydrothermally stable molecular sieves, dehydration of the captured PFAS on the sieves, and catalytic ozonation of the captured PFAS molecules on the dried sieves. The second stage involves catalytic decomposition and neutralization of the ozonation results with one of a pair of vessels including a zeolite-supported CaO catalyst, catalytic oxidation of any toxic CO generated by the decomposition, and an acid wash for regeneration of the spent catalyst.
Abstract:
A water treatment system includes a water mixing unit adapted to promote water turbulence, an input line having an upstream end adapted to be in fluid communication with a body of water to be treated, and a downstream end in fluid communication with the water mixing unit. The system includes an ozone injector adapted to be connected in fluid communication with an ozone gas generation system. A branching line is in fluid communication with the input line and the ozone injector and an ozone supply line is in fluid communication with the ozone injector and the input line. A bypass control valve is in fluid communication with the ozone supply line and the water input line and is adapted to be selectively switched between an open position and a closed position, wherein water is prevented from flowing through the branching line and the ozone supply line when the bypass control valve is in the closed position.
