Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous emulsion composition excellent in heat resistance, water resistance, hot water resistance, boiling water resistance, and viscosity stability and also excellent in stain resistance. The present invention relates to an aqueous emulsion composition including an aqueous emulsion (D) and a cyclic acid anhydride (E). The aqueous emulsion (D) includes a polymer (X) having an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (B), a polyvinyl alcohol resin (A), and water. At least one selected from the polyvinyl alcohol resin (A) and the polymer (X) has, in a main chain thereof, a structural unit derived from a monomer (C) represented by the following formula (I), (II), (III), or (IV). (The definitions of the symbols in the formulae are omitted.)

Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive resin composition for bonding semiconductors, including: a (meth)acrylate-based resin including more than 17% by weight of (meth)acrylate-based repeating units containing epoxy-based functional groups; an epoxy resin having a softening point of more than 70° C.; and a phenol resin having a softening point of more than 105° C., wherein the weight ratio of the (meth)acrylate-based resin is 0.48 to 0.65 relative to the total weight of the (meth)acrylate-based resin, the epoxy resin, and the phenol resin, an adhesive film for semiconductors obtained from the resin composition, a dicing die-bonding film including an adhesive layer that includes the adhesive film for semiconductors, a semiconductor wafer including the dicing die-bonding film, and a dicing method for the semiconductor wafer using the dicing die-bonding film.

Abstract: Compositions and methods of producing composite materials for use as a cathode in electrochemical cells. Elemental sulfur is mixed with tungsten sulfide (WS2) to form a composite mixture. Organic comonomers may be added to the composite mixture. The composite mixture is reacted to form the composite material. Electrochemical cells with cathodes containing the composite material demonstrated improved battery performance.

Abstract: A method of preparing condensation cross-linked particles in an emulsion includes combining a first linear reactant having two unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties, a second linear reactant having two Si—H moieties, and a third reactant having at least one condensable reactive group and having up to two unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties or Si—H moieties with the proviso that the third reactant has at least one unsaturated carbon-carbon moiety or S—H moiety. The first, second, and third reactants are combined in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst and a polar liquid to form an emulsion wherein the first, second, and third reactants react via a hydrosilylation reaction to form particles that have a linear backbone wherein the condensable reactive group is disposed thereon. The method also includes cross-linking the linear backbone via a condensation reaction to form the condensation cross-linked particles.

Abstract: Improved emulsion breakers in the form of polyol acrylate polymers in water/oil emulsions have relatively high polymer contents and low inversion viscosities. The emulsion breakers can be prepared by mixing together acrylate monomer, polyol, water, liquid petroleum product, and emulsifier, followed by homogenization of the mixture; the latter is then subjected to free radical polymerization to polymerize the polyol and monomer in situ within the mixture.
