Abstract:
Imaging systems and methods are disclosed for generating enhanced visual representations of captured data such as infrared image data. For example, the perceived color distance or contrast between colors representing adjacent output levels (e.g., temperature or infrared intensity levels) are enhanced in visual representations of infrared images. According to embodiments, infrared image data values representing a scene may be mapped according to a color palette implemented using complementary colors as adjacent (e.g., successive) base colors or a sequence of colors that repeats a predetermine set of hues with varying saturation and/or intensity, thereby increasing the color contrast between pixels representing subtle temperature differences in the scene. The color palette can be enlarged by mapping a larger number of distinct output levels to a larger sequence of colors, for example by increasing the bit-depth of the color palette, such that color transitions look smoother and more natural.
Abstract:
A color sphere (100) has a plurality of organized color cells. The color cells are gradually lighter from a bottom (108) to a top (110). A first color cell is selected from the color sphere. Radial, horizontal peripheral, vertical peripheral directions (104, 106, 107) are identified relative to the first color cell. The color cells of the sphere 100 are organized so that they only match in the radial direction (104), horizontal peripheral direction (106) and in the vertical peripheral direction (107). A second color cell is selected only when the second color cell is in selected direction.
Abstract:
A method and system for measuring a colour value of a target comprising a mobile communication device having a camera with a sensor arranged to detect wavelengths of incident light reflected from an illuminated target. The mobile communication device also has a processor arranged to measure a colour value of the target based on the detected wavelengths received from the sensor, and to output the measured colour value of the target for display on a display of the mobile communication device.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, processes, and devices are disclosed for measuring and matching the color and appearance of decorative artifacts to facilitate product selection, such as in a retail store or other commercial environment.
Abstract:
A method, combination or apparatus for compensating for or predicting the shift in the human perception of colour which occurs when the colour is seen on a small surface area as compared with when it is seen extending over a large surface area. The compensation or prediction is performed by increasing (compensation) or decreasing (prediction) the lightness and chroma of the colour in a specified way. The invention allows choosers of colour to take account of the shifts when making their choice of colours and is useful in chosing colours for paints, plastics, textiles or illuminated surfaces.
Abstract:
An aiding system (1) for hair color that includes input data (4) indicative of desired customer color hair data and existing customer color hair data. The latter data indicates also the present hair color and hair characteristics data. The system (1) further stores data that includes static aiding data and pertinent hair treatment procedures. Still further, the system (1) includes a processor (2) that is capable of processing the customer color hair data, desired customer color hair data and static aiding data for executing hair color treatment procedure.

Abstract:
The color device (300) has a core (302) with hues that gradually change whiteness, respectively. The discs have hues covering an entire color spectrum at a certain level of whiteness. All hues of the first and second discs (308, 306) have the first and second level of whiteness, respectively. The discs extend perpendicularly outwardly from the core. The first disc (308) is axially remote from the second disc (306) so that a distance (d) is formed therebetween. The discs are aligned so that color cells of the first disc (308) axially aligned with color cells of the second disc (306) have identical hues except for different whiteness. The level of color saturation in the color cells is gradually increased radially outwardly from the core (302).
Abstract:
Assembly (2) for selecting matching colours to base colours of user articles. The assembly comprises a substrate (4) provided with a plurality of selection areas (5) that have mutually differing selection colours. The assembly further comprises a cover (6) having a first main surface (8) provided with a first base colour and having a second main surface (9) . The cover is provided with a window (10). The assembly is provided with holding means (12) for holding the cover to the substrate in a first cover position wherein, by means of the window, at least one selection area is exposed. The second main surface is provided with a second base colour. The window and the holding means are arranged for holding the cover to the substrate in a second cover position wherein, by means of the window, at least one selection area is exposed.
