Abstract:
A digital camera, comprising an image sensor and an optical system for capturing an image of a scene and a wireless communication system. User interface elements are provided enabling a user to select a sharing destination for a captured digital image. A plurality of network pathways are identified for communication with the sharing destination using the wireless communication system. A priority is determined for each of the network pathways and the digital image is transmitted to the sharing destination using the highest priority network pathway.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a near field communication (NFC) unit that establishes, when a portable terminal device comes near the NFC unit, wireless communication with the portable terminal device; a short-range communication unit that has a larger wireless communication coverage than that of the NFC unit, establishes, after the wireless communication has been established and connection setting information has been received via the NFC unit, wireless communication with the portable terminal device by using the connection setting information; a data processing unit that performs data processing on data received via the short-range communication unit; a printer unit that prints out the processed data; and a control unit that controls, when the data received via the short-range communication unit is determined to contain data about image processing control, processing performed by the data processing unit or the printer unit in accordance with the data about image processing control.
Abstract:
The present invention improves user experience when a reader/writer (5) and a portable terminal (7) engage in near field communication by selecting any of two or more communication modes in order to link an image forming device (3) and the portable terminal (7) using near field communication. When a log-in screen is displayed on a display unit (403) of the image forming device (3), the reader/writer (5) and the portable terminal (7) are automatically set to a read communication mode.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes a first near field communication unit that transmits a first wireless signal for performing first near field communication; a second near field communication unit that transmits a second wireless signal for performing second near field communication; and a communication control unit that controls the first and second near field communication units such that the first wireless signal and the second wireless signal are alternately transmitted, identification information of a user is acquired from a terminal device via the first near field communication when connection via the first near field communication is established in response to transmitting the first wireless signal, and identification information of the information processing apparatus is transmitted to the terminal device via the second near field communication when connection via the second near field communication is established in response to transmitting the second wireless signal.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a portable terminal has an input device, a display, and a controller. The controller analyzes maintenance information inputted by the input device, and converts the maintenance information into a format suitable for display of the display, based on this analysis result. The display displays the converted maintenance information.
Abstract:
A processing apparatus having a function to perform specific processing based on a request from a terminal is provided. The processing apparatus includes a connection portion configured to connect the processing apparatus to the terminal; and a display control portion configured to control the terminal to display a second screen including a part or a whole of a first screen, the first screen having been displayed in the terminal by another processing apparatus with the function before the processing apparatus connects to the terminal.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates communication between a portable electronic device connected to a structured network and a printer. During operation, the system uses a peer-to-peer connection between the portable electronic device and the printer to confirm use of the structured network for subsequent communication between the portable electronic device and the printer. Next, the system enables use of the structured network for the communication by transmitting credentials for the structured network from the portable electronic device to the printer, wherein the transmitted credentials are used by the printer to connect to the structured network. Finally, the system transfers the communication from the peer-to-peer connection to a direct connection between the portable electronic device and the printer on the structured network.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments provide a system that performs a print job. During operation, the system detects a printer in proximity to a portable electronic device associated with the print job. Next, the system establishes a peer-to-peer connection between the portable electronic device and the printer and uses the peer-to-peer connection to obtain a set of printer attributes from the printer. If the printer attributes match the print job, the system establishes a direct connection between the printer and the portable electronic device and sends the print job to the printer over the direct connection, wherein the print job is executed using the printer.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus (60) to support a near field communication (NFC) function receives address book information stored in a user terminal by tagging the user terminal (1601), and generates a quick menu in which image forming functions related to the received address book information are listed (1602) and displays the quick menu on a user interface unit (1603).
