An acoustic construction module (10) includes at least one transducer (160) for generating acoustic energy when excited by a signal. The at least one transducer (160) is mounted to a panel wall (150) of an acoustic chamber (110). The panel wall (150) includes a configuration of elongate slots (170) providing fluid communication between an interior volume of the chamber (110) and an ambient region (20) outside the chamber (110). The transducer (160) being operable to cause the panel wall (150) to vibrate and thereby emit acoustic radiation to the ambient region outside the chamber (110). The modules (10) optionally includes one or more coupling regions (40) for enabling the module (10) to be coupled to other similar modules (10) for constructing at least one of: walls, ceilings, floors.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen großflächig ausgebildeten Lautsprecher mit sandwichartigem Schichtaufbau, bestehend aus mehreren leitenden und nichtleitenden Schichten, die eine aktive schallabstrahlende Lautsprecherfläche bilden, mit: einer ersten, mit einer elektrisch leitenden Schicht (3) beschichteten, Membranfolie (1), einer zweiten, mit einer elektrisch leitenden Schicht (4) beschichteten, Membranfolie (2), einer statischen Hochspannungsversorgung (9), die zwischen der ersten elektrisch leitenden Schicht (3) und der zweiten elektrisch leitenden Schicht (4) ein elektrisches Feld erzeugt, einer Audio-Quelle (10) die über einen Kondensator (15) das Hochspannungsfeld zwischen der ersten elektrisch leitenden Schicht (3) und der zweiten elektrisch leitenden Schicht (4) beeinflusst. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die erste elektrisch leitend beschichtete Membranfolie (1) über eine erste elastische und nichtleitenden Zwischenschicht (5) mit der zweiten elektrisch leitend beschichteten Membranfolie (2) ein Sandwich bilden, welches sich einfach über die aktive Lautsprecherfläche erstreckt.

A frame assembly for mounting recessed fixtures that can be manually installed without the use of tools. One embodiment of the invention includes a primary mounting frame for recessed installation, the primary mounting frame defining an open interior to accommodate a fixture and including a border flange along the outer edge of the open interior. A ratcheting fastener is rotationally coupled to the primary mounting frame and can be manually secured by depressing it toward the border flange to secure the primary mounting frame between opposite surfaces of a substrate. The ratcheting fastener can be rotated to engaged or disengaged from ratcheting teeth.
