A method and a system for transmitting electronic service guide related data in a portable broadcasting service are provided to reduce communication network usage cost by quickly acquiring ESG data when offering a portable broadcasting service through communication network. A broadcast providing server receives an ESG(Electronic Service Guide) data request(301). An ESG query received from a mobile terminal is analyzed. The version of requested ESG data is grasped(303). The broadcast providing server collects the grasped ESG data(305). The ESG data group file in which the broadcast providing server is made up is transmitted to the mobile terminal through the communications network. The header of the received ESG data group file is analyzed. The mobile terminal piles ESG data group.

A system for generating and reproducing 3D image file based on 2D image media standard and a method thereof are provided to simplify the verification process using already verified standard technology, and generate, and reproduce 2D, and 3D file to new 3D image file format. A stereo-scopic image file-creating apparatus(300) comprises a first camera(301), a second camera(302), an image signal processor(303), a storage(304), an encoder(305), a data conversion part(306), and a file generator(307). The first camera takes pictures or right eye view, and left eye view and outputs the video data. The second camera takes a picture from the other visual point about an object and outputs the video data. The encoder encodes the video data. The data conversion part processes the video data of the second camera.

A method for transceiving information related to an ESG(Electric Service Guide) in a DVB CBMS system is provided to encrypt and transmit the ESG in a network and receive and decode the encrypted ESG in a terminal, thereby providing the ESG to only previously appointed users. A method for transceiving information related to an ESG(Electric Service Guide) in a DVB CBMS(Digital Video Broadcasting Convergence of Broadcasting and Mobile Service) system comprises the following steps of: analyzing the characteristics of the ESG(301); checking whether it is clear to air(302); setting clear to air as false and setting related acquisition information in AcquisitionRef(303); setting RelatedEntrypoint if decryption related information is available in a specific point(304); checking whether it is free to provide the ESG(305); setting free to air as false if related purchase information is set in PurchaseRef(306); and setting RelatedEntrypoint if related decoding and/or purchase related information can be acquired in a specific point(307).

Abstract:
A hand-over system in a digital broadcasting system and a method therefor are provided to configure network information for supporting a hand-over in the digital broadcasting system. A PSI/SI(Program Specific Information/System Information) management unit(202) of a serving network(200) checks whether a neighboring network(250), which provides the same multi-broadcasting service as a multi-broadcasting service currently provided, exists. If the neighboring network exists, the PSI/SI management unit changes a part repeated with broadcasting service information necessary for providing the multi-broadcasting service in the serving network from broadcasting service information necessary for providing the same multi-broadcasting service in the neighboring network. A TS(Transport Stream) generating unit of the serving network includes the broadcasting service information in which the repeated information is changed and the same multi-broadcasting service in a TS and transmits the TS. A terminal receives the TS transmitted from the serving network. The terminal checks the broadcasting service information included in the TS and checks whether the same broadcasting service as the broadcasting service provided from the serving network exists in the neighboring network. If the same multi-broadcasting service exists in a hand-over to the neighboring network, the terminal receives the multi-broadcasting service provided from the neighboring network by using the broadcasting service information of the serving network.

A method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving a coded electronic service guide in a digital video broadcast service guide in a DVB-H(Digital Video Broad-Handheld) CBMS(Convergence of Broadcasting and Mobile Service) are provided to allow a visited network to provide a coded ESG(Electronic Service Guide) and a pertinent key to a terminal and the terminal to decode the ESG to check whether desired service is provided or not in the visited network. When a terminal determines that a roaming procedure is necessary, the terminal selects whether to first view a visited ESG or immediately to start service roaming(301). When the terminal wants to view a visited ESG, the terminal transmits a visited ESG request to a visited network(302). The terminal performs authentication with the visited network(303) and then receives a key for decoding a coded visited ESG(304). The terminal receives a visited ESG via a broadcasting network(305), and decodes the received visited ESG with the received key to recognize what kind of service is provided in the visited network. The terminal determines whether to start a user roaming procedure or whether to start a service roaming procedure(306), and performs the user roaming procedure or the service roaming procedure according to determination(307).

A method for transmitting a notification message in a portable broadcasting system and a system according to the same are provided to support a bidirectional channel. If a notification event is received, a notification generation function(203) writes a notification message corresponding to the notification event. The notification generation function(203) determines a path of the notification message. When the path of the notification message is a bidirectional channel, the notification generation function(203) transmits a transmission request message including a target address of a corresponding terminal(119) to an NDAF(Notification Distribution/Adaptation Function)(202). The NDAF(202) receives the transmission request message, confirms the transmission path and the target address, and transmits the notification message to the terminal(119) through the corresponding target address.

A method for providing a location-based service in a digital broadcasting system and an apparatus therefor are provided to offer the location-based service to a terrestrial DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) terminal which is moved to a mobile by allowing the mobile which performs a function of a gap filler to change transmitter identification information according to the location change of the mobile. An ADC(Analog to Digital Converter)(600) receives a broadcasting signal through an antenna, digitalizes the received broadcasting signal, and outputs the digitalized broadcasting signal. A TDM(Time Division Multiplexing) receiving unit(610) recovers the digitalized broadcasting signal outputted from the ADC(600) as an original signal. A TDM/OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) converter(620) changes a frame structure of the recovered signal to transmit the recovered signal as an OFDM signal. An OFDM transmitter(630) amplifies and outputs the OFDM signal. A transmitter identification information generator(641) generates and outputs mapped transmitter identification information of a corresponding area on the basis of current physical location information received from a mobile. An adder(640) adds the output of the OFDM transmitter(630) and the output of the transmitter identification information generator(641), and outputs a broadcasting signal.
Abstract:
A user and service roaming method and system in a digital broadcasting system are provided to allow a terminal to normally receive a desired service even in a visit network not in a home network. When a terminal(119) corresponding to a subscriber of a home service provider roams a service area of another service provider, the terminal receives ESG(Electronic Service Guide) of the other service provider and determines a roaming type on the basis of a list of services provided by the ESG. And then, the terminal performs user roaming and service roaming according to the determined roaming type.
