Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe apparatuses and methods for signal designs for device-to-device (D2D) subframes. Various embodiments may include a UE with a radio transceiver to communicate with another UE via D2D communications. The UE may further include processing circuitry to generate a cyclic prefix (CP) for a first or second symbol of a D2D subframe at an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) resource block or a single-carrier frequency-division multiple access (SC-FDMA) resource block. Abstract: Provided herein are method and apparatus for channel coding in the fifth Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) system. An embodiment provides an apparatus for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB), including circuitry, which is configured to: generate Downlink Control Information (DCI) payload for a NR-Physical Downlink Control Channel (NR-PDCCH); attach Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) to the DCI payload; mask the CRC with an Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) using a bitwise modulus 2 addition operation, wherein the number of bits for the RNTI is different from the number of bits for the CRC; and perform polar encoding for the DCI payload with the masked CRC.

Abstract: Technology for user equipment (UE) operable to decode beam indication related information received from a New Radio (NR) base station in a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is disclosed. The UE can decode a transmission configuration indication (TCI) received in a downlink control information (DCI) from the NR base station on a scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a scheduled bandwidth part (BWP) or a scheduled component carrier (CC). The UE can decode a scheduling offset received from the NR base station, wherein the scheduling offset is an offset time for reception of beam indication related information in a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The UE can decode the beam indication related information received from the NR base station in the PDSCH on the scheduled BWP or the scheduled CC at a time period greater than or equal to the scheduling offset relative to the PDCCH transmission.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, storage media, and systems for determining a capability of a UE to support a first downlink control information (DCI) format for Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) reception in a downlink (DL) bandwidth part (BWP) and a second DCI format for scheduling uplink (UL) grants for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission in a UL bandwidth part (BWP), where the first DCI format is different from DCI formats 1_0 or 1_1, and the second DCI format is different from DCI formats 0_0 or 0_1. Furthermore, a base station may determine search spaces for monitoring physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates to obtain DCI formats indicated by the base station. Abstract: A network device such as an evolved NodeB (eNB) or next generation NodeB (gNB) can configure a set of user equipment (UE) for cell reference signal (CRS) muting in order to provide better channel quality and power efficiency in communications. Where an eNB mutes CRS transmissions that are not needed by any UE, an improvement in downlink throughput and reduce connection drop rate can be generated. A CRS muting capability can be determined based on a user equipment (UE) capability information. According to the CRS muting capability of a UE, CRS muting can be generated in a physical channel outside of a narrow band (NB) or a wide band (WB) plus/minus X physical resource blocks (PRBs), wherein X is a non-negative integer, based on the CRS muting capability.

Abstract: An apparatus of a New Radio (NR) User Equipment (UE), a method and system. The apparatus includes baseband circuitry including a radio frequency (RF) interface and one or more processors coupled to the RF interface and configured to execute the instructions to: encode a plurality of Transport Blocks (TBs) and encode a first uplink transmission using the TBs and in a grant-free mode to a NR evolved Node B (gNodeB); decode a downlink control information (DCI) from the gNodeB; based on the DCI, encode a second uplink transmission using the TBs to the gNodeB, wherein the second uplink transmission is one of in a grant-free mode and in a grant-based mode, and wherein the DCI includes information on an identification (ID) for a hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledge feedback (HARQ) process (HARQ process ID) corresponding to the second uplink transmission, the HARQ process ID being based on a resource configuration index corresponding to the second uplink transmission; and send the TBs, the first encoded uplink transmission, and the second encoded uplink transmission to the RF interface.

Abstract: Techniques for transmitting hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback by narrowband Internet-of-Things (NB-IoT) devices are provided. NB-IoT user equipment (UE) can transmit HARQ feedback in response to a narrowband physical downlink shared channel (NPDSCH) received over a downlink (DL). NB-IoT UEs can transmit the responsive HARQ feedback over a narrowband physical uplink shared channel (NPUSCH) or a narrowband physical uplink control channel (NPUCCH). Options for defining the physical structures of the NPUCCH and NPUSCH and user multiplexing on the uplink (UL) are provided. Determination of an UL resource allocation by determining resources in time, frequency, and the code domain for the HARQ feedback transmissions are also provided. Higher level signaling and/or indications provided in downlink control information (DCI) can be used to determine the time, frequency, or code domain resources.
