Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless systems, a user equipment (UE) may access a network or cell using a random access (RACH) procedure. A base station may allocate dedicated RACH resources and common RACH resources for the UE to transmit a RACH preamble message on and may convey a configuration for the UE. In some cases, the UE may perform multiple transmissions of the RACH preamble message in the dedicated RACH resources, and based on the configuration may determine whether to perform a single or multiple transmissions of the RACH preamble message in the common RACH resources. The UE may transmit the messages using the same or different uplink transmit beams, and the base station may receive the messages using the same or different uplink reception beams. These multiple transmissions may reduce latency and improve reliability of the RACH procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may initiate a beam management procedure, including reference signal transmission to a user equipment (UE) and receive beam training. A base station may configure a UE to monitor a set of beams for reference signals. Based on the received reference signals, the UE may optionally select one or more transmit beams for wakeup signal reception, and may transmit an indication of the selected beams to the base station. The base station may transmit a wakeup signal over the originally configured or the UE-selected transmit beams to initiate wake-up procedure at the UE. The base station and UE may subsequently perform a refined beam management procedure, providing a refined reference signal transmission from the base station. Based on the received transmission, the UE may select a refined beam for downlink transmissions.

The base station may transmit, based at least in part on identifying that the data is available to be transmitted to the UE, a wakeup message to the UE using a first transmit beam. The base station may initiate a beam management procedure based at least in part on identifying that the data is available to be transmitted to the UE, to identify a second transmit beam for the base station to use to transmit the available data to the UE, wherein the second transmit beam comprises a narrower beam width than the first transmit beam.

Abstract: A wireless node (e.g. , a slave relay node) may receive scheduling commands over multiple wireless links and identify a scheduling conflict. For example, the wireless node my identify a conflict of wireless resources indicated by the received scheduling commands. The wireless node may select a non-conflicting subset of the scheduling commands based on a conflict policy, and transmit data over the wireless links according to the non-conflicting subset of the scheduling commands. Additionally or alternatively, the wireless node may transmit a conflict report indicating the identified scheduling conflict. The conflict report may be sent to other wireless nodes (e.g. , master relay nodes associated with the conflicting scheduling commands). The other wireless nodes may engage in negotiation signaling to resolve the scheduling conflict, and may transmit an updated scheduling command to the slave relay node. The slave relay node may transmit data over wireless links based on the updated scheduling command.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may use quasi co-located antenna ports for transmission of synchronization signal(s)/reference signal(s) and paging signals. For example, the base station may use a first antenna port configuration for transmission of the synchronization/reference signal(s) and a second antenna port configuration for transmission of the paging signal ( e.g. , paging indicator, paging message, etc. ). The base station may transmit an indication of the quasi co-located antenna ports. A user equipment (UE) may receive the synchronization signal and, based on the antenna ports being quasi co-located, receive the paging signal. In some examples, the UE may determine which receive beam to use to receive the paging signal based on the antenna ports being quasi co-located. In some aspects, the UE may use a reference signal transmitted on antenna ports that are quasi co-located with the paging signal antenna ports.
