The gravity ballasting apparatus and the method of back-flushing the filter using the same of the present invention can effectively flush the filter without the risk of clogging the filter due to a lack of back-flushing of the filter, and improve operating efficiency by operating the ballasting when the back-flushing of the filter is completed, in which a pressure difference necessary for providing driving force capable of reversing the seawater is formed in back-flushing the filter by operating the filter back-flushing device when a pressure difference between an inlet and an outlet of the filter increases to a pressure difference that interferes with ballasting while filtering the foreign material contained in the seawater.
