    Abstract: A system and method for dewatering a continuous stream of slurry at high flow rates demonstrates enhanced efficiency, economy and ease of operation. A stream of slurry is subject to continuous or continual measurement of flow rate and pulp density and the measurements are used to control the rate of addition of a flocculating agent to the slurry. The flocculated slurry is delivered to a dewatering unit where it is passed through a diffuser and evenly delivered to a tracking screen for filtering solids from a liquid filtrate. The pulp density of the filtrate may also be measured and used to control addition of a flocculating agent. The tracking screen is adjusted to achieve an angle of repose suited to the particular composition of the filter cake. The diffuser has a base having a horizontal section aspect ratio of from about 1:1 to about 4:1 and continuously changing vertically into an upper portion having a horizontal section with an aspect ratio of from about 40:1 to about 100:1. The ratio of the horizontal sectional areas at the upper portion with respect to the base is from about 1:1 to about 3:1. The dewatering unit of the invention may be adjustably mounted on a transport means for deployment of the high speed dewatering system and method at any convenient location.

    Abstract: A bag clip is provided for removably mounting a filter bag onto a suction mast of a pool cleaner to collect and retain debris vacuumed by the pool cleaner from submerged floor and side wall surfaces of a swimming pool. The bag clip includes an inner support collar for reception into an open mouth of a porous filter bag, in combination with an outer clamp ring for releasibly clamping the bag mouth onto the inner support collar. The bag clip additionally includes quick release latch tabs for snap fit mounting onto the pool cleaner suction mast. In use, the outer clamp ring can be quickly and easily opened to permit filter bag removal and disposal of collected debris, followed by re-installation of the same or a replacement filter bag.

    Abstract: A canal-restoration system and method has a processor tank (1) that includes a screen (5) vertically above a soil accumulator (6) and vertically below a water collector (4) near a top portion of the processor tank. Waterway sludge pumped from canals is conveyed downward in a sludge inlet (7) onto a disperser (14) and into the soil accumulator. Below the sludge inlet, soil (15) in the waterway sludge settles downwardly for dump or conveyance removal. Also, below the sludge inlet, settled water (16) circulates upwardly through the screen to the water collector at a top portion of the processor tank for conveyance back to the canals as screened-clear water (17). The screen preferably has upwardly progressive fineness of a plurality of three or more screens. A downward settling action keeps the screen unclogged and easily cleaned.

    Abstract: A mobile, portable filter mechanism is disclosed that allows a single user both to transport and treat liquid. The device consists of a trailer-type vehicle that includes an expanded metal screen lying inside the rectangular body. A disposable filter bag is placed upon the screen and a pump is used to fill the bag. The treated water flows out of the bag and is collected in the collection basin located in the trailer body. A plug is located in the rear of the trailer to allow the treated liquid to be drained or pumped to another filter stage. Additionally, a hydraulic ram, of the standard dump-bed type is part of the apparatus and allows the user to drain the collected liquid and to aid in the disposition of the filter bag.

    Abstract: A self-contained, trailer-mounted, portable wash and paint facility particularly useful to retrieve a grease disposal container having a removable lid, wash dirt and grease from the container, repaint the container, and return it to service. The facility contains an extendable boom and winch to handle the container and bring it into the facility. A vat agitated with compressed air is provided containing a heated caustic solution wherein lids are soaked as part of the cleaning process. A trolley mounted winch is provided which assists in removing the container lid and moving it to and from the soaking vat. A circulating high pressure wash system is provided for high pressure spraying of heated soapy cleaning solution. The cleaning system has a high-pressure washer and tank with a delivery hose and nozzle for the operator to employ when washing the grease container. The floor of the facility contains a grate where used cleaning solution is collected in a catch tank. The catch tank features a screen basket for catching large debris, and an upper and lower compartment. The upper compartment has a skimmer for removing grease and oil from the solution, and skimmer tubes allow solution to flow to a lower compartment where silt settles and solution is collected. The solution from the catch tank is recycled through a three stage filter to the washer.

    Abstract: A mobile sewer and catch basin cleaning vehicle dislodges and removes debris in a conventional manner. The dislodged debris is then conveyed into a debris-receiving compartment where it undergoes a two-stage filtration process. The first stage removes the coarser debris from the reclaimed contaminated water. The second stage filters out the finer particulate debris by drawing such water through a finely filtered media surrounding a rotating drum. This filtered reclaimed water is then re-used in the cleaning operations.
