Abstract:
Method for extracting precious metals from their ores in which the ore is particulated and mixed with a binding agent to form a paste. The paste material is discharged into a rotary drum at an extruding station where it is pelletized by forcing it through a perforated sidewall of the drum. The pellets are discharged onto a conveyor belt and are transported to a spray station where they are wetted with a lixiviant solution. The lixiviant coated pellets are then dried by exposure to a heated air stream at a drying station as they are transported to an open air curing stockpile. The cured pellets are heaped in a pile and are then washed with a water spray to yield a pregnant solution of a precious metal salt.
Abstract:
A pelletizing press wherein an annular die having material extrusion bores therethrough has its inner periphery operatively engaging freely rotatable pelletizing rollers. The die is carried by a tubular rotor and the tubular rotor is driven by at least two motors, each drive connected separately to a common endless flexible driving member also drive connected to said die.
Abstract:
An extrusion press particularly for forming animal feed pellets is provided with means for detecting slip between the roll and the die and the operating conditions, e.g. feed of material to the nip, are varied when the slip exceeds a predetermined value or the rate of change of slip exceeds or corresponds to a predetermined value.
Abstract:
Apparatus for making a stable block from paper including means for providing a plurality of moist paper fragments, means for roughening the outer surface of a group of the moist paper fragments, and means for compressing the group of paper fragments to form the group of paper fragments into a stable block without the addition of an adhesive.
Abstract:
An improvement for pellet mills for resolving the radial forces which develop between the die and the rollers. An extension is provided on the main shaft extending beyond the roller support frame arms, and a bearing assembly is mounted on the extension for supporting a spider connected to the die cover.
Abstract:
A dry ice pellet machine having a snow horn for flashing liquid carbon dioxide into snow; an extruding ring die for receiving the snow and consisting of an internal ring gear with radial drawholes in and between the gear teeth around the ring periphery; a concentrically pivoted carrier within the ring die having diametrically positioned gear pinions for planetary movement in meshing engagement with the ring gear, and alternatively, rolls on the carrier for traversing a corresponding surface of the ring die; a drive motor for rotating the carrier and causing collected snow to be entrained and forced by the rolls (meshing gears) into the draw-holes and extruded therefrom as ice pellets.
Abstract:
This specification discloses an improvement in a pellet mill having a cylindrical feed receiver clamped to a radially perforated and cylindrical rotatable die. Rollers are disposed interior of the die for extruding feed through the perforated die into pellet form, the die being connected with a supporting cartridge by a ring clamp. The cartridge has an annular groove extending peripherally around a flanged portion, and an intermediate element is inserted in the groove to form a bearing and wear translative surface that engages the clamp.
