Abstract:
A system, embossing station, and method for producing a combination of graphics and a relief on a substrate, and the product produced thereby. The system has at least one print station (12) having a first substrate path, and at least one embossing station (14) having a second substrate path. The second substrate path of the at least one embossing station (14) has a coating device (16) an embossing device (40), and a curing device (60). The coating device (16) is located at a first location along the second substrate path and the embossing device (40) is located at a second location along the second substrate path, the second location being spaced from the first location. The curing device (60) is located at a third location along the second substrate path. The second and third locations can be located on either opposite sides of the second substrate path or on a common side of the second substrate path. The curing device (60) can be an actinic radiation source, such as an ultraviolet light source or an electronic beam source.
Abstract:
For the production of a sheet product including at least two layers (V1, V2) it is suggested, among other things, an embossing device including a first pressure roller (5; 105) interacting with a first and a second embossing cylinder (1, 3; 101, 103) provided with respective points (1P, 3P; 101P, 103P) on their cylindrical surface.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus are disclosed for embossing paper webs (200) using opposing embossing and imprinting rolls (500, 502). In the preferred embodiment, the embossing roll (500) and the imprinting roll (502) have differing diametrical dimensions, thereby producing differing velocities through the nip, causing the embossing projections (104), of the embossing roll (500) to sweep through modified imprint cells (120) of the imprint roll (502), thereby affecting an automatic sweeping of accumulated debris (170) from the imprinting cell (120) as the embossing operation takes place.
Abstract:
A method for embossing and printing sheets of paper made of two-ply cellulose (101, 107) or further characterized in that the printing of one ply is performed directly on the embossing cylinder (112) by means of one or more printers provided on the embossing units, and in that said ply is combined with a further embossed and coated ply to form a sheet, the printing pigments being located on the inner surface of the sheet between said two or more plies.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a variety of novel fibrous structures having a design element disposed on at least one surface. More particularly the present invention provides fibrous structures comprising a textured surface, and more preferably a textured background surface, and a design element wherein the design element is formed by removing a portion of the textured background. In this manner the fibrous structures of the present invention generally comprise a textured background surface having a top surface lying in a surface plane, a bottom surface lying in a bottom plane and a design element lying in a third plane between the surface and bottom planes. The textured surface provides the fibrous structures with an overall background pattern that is typically visually distinct from the design element imparted thereon.

Abstract:
A fibrous product (10, 20, 20b, 30), especially tissue paper product, non-woven products or a hybrid thereof, and preferably hygiene and cleaning product has at least one first ply (42; 62; 84; 104) with at least one embossing pattern comprising embossed depressions starting from a base plane of the ply; the embossed pattern being characterized by the following features: the embossing pattern has a minimum motive surface area of at least 3cm x 3cm; the pattern comprises a high number of embossed depressions which are sized and/or positioned such as to form a motive element covering the motive surface area; wherein at least some of the embossed depressions are sized and/or positioned such that minimum distances between pairs of consecutively arranged embossed depression vary. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a fibrous product.
Abstract:
Method for making a web paper material constituted by more paper superimposed plies, comprising a step of embossing at least one paper ply (1) in a corresponding embossing station (G) and its coupling by means of gluing with a further paper ply (2) advancing towards the said embossing station (G). The said further paper ply (2) is glued in a corresponding gluing station (C) upstream of said embossing station (G) with respect to the advancing direction of said further paper ply (2). The glue is applied to said further paper ply (2) when it results and advances between a roller (RA) of the gluing station (C) which provides to distribute the glue onto a side of the further paper ply (2) and a further roller (60) which guides and supports the further paper ply (2), the said further roller (60) being spaced from the said embossing station (G).
Abstract:
A device for producing a multi-ply fibrous product (60) comprises an embossing roll (10; 10') with first and second embossing protrusions (16, 18, 19) on its outer circumferential surface (11) having at least two different heights in a radial direction, an anvil roll (14) cooperating with the embossing roll (10; 10'), an application roll (48) for coloured adhesive or ink arranged next to the embossing roll (10; 10') and a marrying roll (30) or another embossing roll running against the embossing roll (10; 10'), wherein the application roll (48) forms a negative gap (g) with the outer diameter of the embossing roll (10; 10'), and the negative gap (g) is exceeding the difference in heights of the first and second protrusions. The invention further relates to a method for producing a multi-ply fibrous product and a multi-ply fibrous product.
Abstract:
The web material comprises an edge area with preferably linear protuberances (PA, PC), disposed so as to mutually intersect and be joined tip-to-tip. In the central. area, inside a frame or parallel longitudinal edges embossed tip-to-tip, the material presents a decorated embossed area (PD). In the central area and in the edge area glues with different chromatic characteristics are used to mu¬ tually join the plies obtaining a chromatic decorative effect.
