    Abstract: There is disclosed a loading system that inserts skates (810) from a dock (800) into a trailer (100). Air sacs (1201, 1203, 120, 1206) underneath the skates are then inflated to lift a paper reel (501) off chocks (110, 120, 130). The skates are then retracted from the trailer back to the dock, thus removing the reel from the trailer and placing the reel over a conveyer (801) that forms part of the dock. The air sacs are then deflated and the weight of the reel is transferred to the conveyor. The reel is then conveyed to a printing press. In an embodiment, two adjacent reels are withdrawn from the trailer onto two adjacent conveyors. The adjacent conveyors displaced (1600, 1601) relative to the skates in order to separate the reels as they are transferred to the conveyors.
