Abstract:
A hot melt adhesive including a poly(lactide) homopolymer or copolymer with a molecular weight of about 1000 to about 40000 Daltons; and a plasticizer including an ester with about 50% to about 99% bio-based content; wherein the viscosity of the hot melt adhesive composition is about 500 to about 15,000 cPs at 350 F, and wherein the hot melt adhesive composition is substantially free of tackifying resins.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a biodegradable halogen-free flame retardants composition used for fire-safety and prevention, that limits and extinguishes fires by means of increased resistance to ignition, slowing down burning rates and the rate of heat, smoke and toxic gas release from polymers with different physical and chemical properties and structure, such as textiles, wooden materials, paper, cardboard, corrugated board, leather, cellular polystyrene, foamed polyurethane, and items made of them. The composition according to the invention contains orthophosphoric acid, urea, triethanolamine, ammonia water, polydimethylsiloxane, surfactant, which may be anionic, cationic, amphoteric, non-ionic or mixtures thereof and water.
Abstract:
[Obj ect] To provide a biodegradable material that has sufficient mechanical strength, considering in vivo use also, and that can suppress pH changes caused by acidic degradation products. [Solving Means] Provided is a biodegradable material using polyester as a base material, including calcium phosphate particles having an average particle diameter of 10 to 1000 nm.
Abstract:
The invention provides novel compositions of hydroxyapatite and block copolymers, methods of their preparation, and uses thereof, wherein the co-polymers have degradable hydrophobic blocks and hydrophilic blocks for stable interfacing with hydroxyapatite, resulting in stable polymer-hydroxyapatite suspensions. The super- hydrophilicity, strengthened mechanical integrity, and retained structural integrity of the HA- PELA composite in aqueous environment represent major advantages over the HA-PLA composites for skeletal tissue engineering applications.
Abstract:
A stone based copolymer substrate includes calcium carbonate (CaCO3) from approximately fifty to eighty-five percent (50-85%) by weight and varying in size generally from 1.0 to 3.0 microns, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) from approximately two to twenty-five percent (2-25%) by weight and a biopolymer from approximately two to twenty-five percent (2-25%) by weight. The substrate may include a biodegradation additive from approximately three fourths of a percent to two percent (0.75-2%) by weight. By selectively adjusting the ranges of the substrate's components, various products can be made to replace current tree-based and plastic-based products. The substrate can be configured to be tear proof, water proof, fade resistant and fire retardant while utilizing less energy and producing less waste during its manufacture. In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, the stone used in the substrate includes limestone.

Abstract:
To provide a pneumatic tire which can reduce fuel consumption without causing reduction in grip performance and after use of which can be degraded by microorganisms. The present invention relates to a rubber composition including 100 parts by mass of a rubber component including a natural rubber and/or a diene rubber and 0.5 to 80 parts by mass of a biodegradable aliphatic polyester. The biodegradable aliphatic polyester is preferably one or more species selected from polylactic acid, polycaprolactone and polyalkylene succinate.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a biodegradable resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of a biodegradable polyester resin containing not less than 50% by mass of polylactic acid, 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of a layered silicate, 0.1 to 5 parts by mass of a carbodiimide compound and 0.01 to 5 parts by mass of a phosphite organic compound. Alternatively, the biodegradable resin composition contains a phosphite organic compound and at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a hindered phenol compound, a benzotriazole compound, a triazine compound and a hindered amine compound in an amount of 0.01 to 5 parts by mass in total, instead of containing 0.01 to 5 parts by mass of the phosphite organic compound.
Abstract:
The invention provides a tea fiber/PHBV/PBAT ternary composite and its preparation method and application. Comprising the components in parts by weight, the composite contains 30-80 parts of a blending polymer of poly(butyleneadipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) and poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV), 20-70 parts of tea powder, 1-19 parts of a plasticizer, 0.6-6 parts of an interface modifier, 3.3-10 parts of an auxiliary packing and 0.7-2 parts of a nucleating agent. The composite is environmental-friendly and cost-effective, exhibiting excellent mechanical properties such as hardness, compressive strength, and ductility. It can be used to manufacture environmental-friendly cups, tableware, compost bags, trash bags, shopping bags, electronic packaging bags, mulch films, 3D printing materials, foaming materials, and other plastic products.
