Abstract:
A device (100) produces an endless winding cable (101) by winding a yarn (106) around two thimbles (102, 104). The device (100) comprises an elongated guide (110), a carriage (112), a yarn feeder (114), a first thimble holder (116), and a second thimble holder (118). The first thimble holder (116) and the second thimble holder (118) each hold one of the two thimbles (102, 104). The carriage (112) is movable relative to the elongated guide (110). The yarn feeder (114) is connected to the carriage (112), and comprises at least one spool holder (120) for holding a spool (122) with the at least one yarn (106), and an output guide (124) for guiding the at least one yarn (106) to the cable during winding. The yarn feeder (114) comprises at least one controllable yarn brake (126) for changing a tension of the at least one yarn (106) during winding. Moreover, a corresponding method and an endless winding cable (101) with increasing tension from a more inner layer of said winding yarn (106) to a more outer layer of said winding yarn (106) when seen from a respective thimble (102, 104) is disclosed

Disclosed is a high traction synthetic rope comprising a braided sheath adhered to a strength member by means of a first synthetic portion and portions of material adhered to the outside surface of the braided sheath by means of a second synthetic portion, where the portions of material are formed of a substance that differs from a substance mainly forming the second synthetic portion and also preferably exhibits greater friction when wet and measured on an iron surface than does the substance mainly forming the second synthetic portion.

The invention relates to a rope for elevator apparatuses and elevator apparatus comprising said rope having low flexural rigidity and allowing its use with sheaves having a reduced diameter, achieving a deterioration level less than that of conventional ropes, for which purpose the rope comprises at least two linear resistant elements (1) parallel along the entire length of the rope, which are located close to a central axis (4) of the cross-section A t of the rope, said cross-section A t having a width a substantially equal to a thickness b, wherein the resistant elements (1) have cross-sections a t which are aligned parallel to said central axis (4).
