Abstract:
An improved lead screw actuator for use in applications including power vehicle windows is provided that significantly reduces the amount of machining that must be performed on the lead screw to enable secure attachment of a gear or pulley. The lead screw has a plurality of threads on its outer annular surface and a first and second axially spaced circumferential groove. A gear or pulley disposed about the lead screw has a female thread formed into an inner annular surface that is configured to engage at least one of the plurality of threads of the lead screw between the first and second grooves. A pair of rings are disposed within the first and second grooves in order to restrict axial movement of the gear or pulley on the lead screw.

A drive device for a hatch of a motor vehicle, wherein a spindle drive is provided with a threaded spindle and a spindle nut mounted on the threaded spindle, by which drive the first fastening element and the housing tube can be driven axially relative to each other. The spindle drive can be rotatably driven by an electric motor, where the output shaft of the motor can rotate the threaded spindle or a connecting component of a clutch. The spindle drive can be rotatably driven by two or more series-connected electric motors.
Abstract:
An adjusting system of a motor vehicle for the adjustment of a closing part is disclosed. The system includesa first and second casing extending oblong in a length-wise direction. The second casing has a smaller cross section than the first casing and is arranged within the first casing to be adjustable in a length-wise direction. A spindle for the relative adjustment of a first casing to the second casing is included and arranged within either or both of the first and second casings. The system also includes an electromotor and a transmission connected with either or both of the spindle and second casing. In addition, at least one spring is arranged within either or both of the first and second casings and operates length-wise, such that one of the casings is attached on the side of the motor vehicle body and another of the casings is attached to the closing side.
Abstract:
A vehicle decklid system uses a planetary gear drive to move a decklid relative to a vehicle body. The planetary gear drive includes a rotatable gear that is disposed between two fixed gears. One fixed gear is rigidly mounted to the decklid and one fixed gear is rigidly mounted to the vehicle body. A rotating link connects centers of the rotatable gear and two fixed gears. The combination of the planetary gear drive and rotating link make it possible to provide powered complex, two-dimensional motion of the decklid requiring a four-bar linkage.
Abstract:
An electric opening/closing device for vehicle, which has good layout characteristic of the vehicle and is provided with a highly-rigid attachment part, is provided. The vehicle electric opening/closing device comprises: a worm wheel meshed with a worm provided on a motor shaft of an electric motor; a planetary gear mechanism disposed coaxially with the worm wheel and decelerating rotation of the worm wheel to transmits it to an output gear; a gear case housing the worm wheel etc. and assembled to the electric motor; and a swing arm rotatably supported by the gear case between an output end linked to a back door and an input end linked to an output gear. An attachment plate for mounting the vehicle electric opening/closing device on the vehicle is sandwiched between the first case body and the second case body which constitute the gear case.
Abstract:
An electro-mechanical actuator for a window lift mechanism including a plurality of motors for driving an output shaft. The actuator may be incorporated into a window lift mechanism including a dual rack and pinion assembly, for driving the pinions along the racks. According to another aspect of the invention there is provided a variety of anti-back-drive mechanisms, e.g. clutches. A clutch according to one embodiment includes locking pawls that resist back-drive. In another embodiment, locking cams rotate relative to a carrier to resist back-drive. An actuator consistent with the invention may incorporate an impact mechanism including a flexible carrier. The carrier flexes to prevent impact forces at an output gear train from coupling to an input gear train.
Abstract:
A drive assembly for a closed loop cable system in which a flexible driver member drives a door or the like back and forth has the flexible drive member wrapped around and driven by a drive pulley. The drive assembly includes a motor unit having a motor shaft that rotates about a drive axis for rotating the drive pulley about a pulley axis, and a tensioning mechanism for adjusting the position of the pulley axis with respect to the drive axis responsive to tension in the flexible drive member.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a servo drive comprising an electromechanical energy converter, which has a rotatably mounted disc rotor for generating a torque and a stepping up mechanism that is connected downstream of the disc rotor, for coupling the disc rotor to an output element and for stepping up the torque that acts on the disc rotor and comprising a locking mechanism that locks a rotational displacement of the output element, when a torque is introduced on the output side. According to the invention, the locking mechanism comprises a coil spring which can be radially expanded and compressed and which extends around the outer periphery of the stepping up mechanism.
Abstract:
The present powered sliding device includes a wire drum (16) connected to a vehicle sliding door (11) through wire cables (18, 19), a motor (14) for rotating the wire drum, a clutch mechanism (25) provided between the motor and the wire drum, a first rotational member (85) rotated integrally with the wire drum, first detection means (86) for detecting the rotation of the first rotational member, and a housing (74). The housing includes a first space (76) accommodating the wired drum and communicating with the outside of the housing through the wire cables and a second space accommodating the first rotational member and the first detection means, and a housing body (73) provided between the first space and the second space for zoning the first space and the second space.
Abstract:
A servo drive for activating a tailgate of a motor vehicle has a drive, a sun wheel driven by the drive and rotatably mounted on a first axle, and a planetary wheel rotatably mounted on a second axle. The sun wheel engages with the planetary wheel. The first and second axles have ends, are movably arranged at their ends facing away from the drive in a common web, and are spaced apart from one another by a constant distance. The planetary wheel engages in a ring gear segment which is fixedly connected to a bodywork, and an end of the web, which faces the ring gear segment, is movably connected to a connecting rod through a third axle. An end of the connecting rod facing away from the third axle is movably connected, via a fourth axle, to an output element which is connected by an end facing away from the fourth axle to the tailgate.
