Abstract:
A method of documenting installation of a fluid handling device in a fluid flow system using a form and an identification device. The identification device has a first portion with first identification information and a second portion with second identification information. The method comprises installing the fluid handling device in the fluid flow system. The method further comprises checking for leaks associated with the fluid handling device installed in the fluid flow system. The second portion of the identification device is separated from the fluid handling device while the first portion of the identification device remains coupled to the fluid handling device after checking for leaks. The second portion of the identification device is then affixed to the form.
Abstract:
A method of installing a sprinkler assembly in a piping network uses a sleeve moved along a conduit to a position where the sleeve is visible from below the assembly. The sleeve has markings which are used in a method to visually identify one or more characteristics of the assembly. Because the markings are indicative of characteristics of the assembly they can be used in a method for inspecting an installed assembly.
Abstract:
A press-on fitting for tubing, piping and conduit is provided with an abutment seal to enhance liquid-tight and gas-tight performance, unitary seals to facilitate removal and installation of the seals, and a color-coded hand-manipulable retention cap to allow for tool-less removal and replacement of the collet to allow for ease of withdrawal of an installed tubing, pipe, or conduit, and to allow for color coding of the retention cap to indicate contents, pressure, safety, temperature, etc.
Abstract:
A system for identifying elements involved in joints of elements configured to form a duct, such as a pipeline, which works on element identifiers for an element identification code. The system includes an element identifier reader and a management device for supplying by a combination device the joint identification codes between two elements according to element identification codes of the two elements. The system is also useful for production of tanks for hydrocarbon by-products and for control and maintenance, for example, of pipeline networks and tanks.
Abstract:
An identifier for a conduit includes a substrate having a pair of apertures. The substrate further contains a frangible portion encompassing one of the apertures and having a shape that corresponds to an opening left in the substrate after removal of the frangible portion. The identifier enables the shape of the frangible portion to be correlated with the shape of the opening left in the substrate after the frangible portion is separated from the substrate.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a plug-in connector, and to a plug-in connector comprising a first tubular component and a second tubular component, and also a first connection geometry and a second connection geometry. A method for producing a plug-in connector is to be made available that permits an easier modification of the relative angle between the longitudinal axes of the two components in the finished plug-in connector. To this end, the two connection geometries are arranged in a connection plane inclined with respect to the longitudinal axes, such that the relative angle between the longitudinal axes can be modified by rotating the components. After a relative angle has been selected, the two connection geometries are connected by integral bonding.
Abstract:
Couplings for use with mating couplings with locking rings are disclosed. A stem coupling may have a coupling head configured to attach with a head portion of the mating coupling, a stem mated to the coupling head where the stem has a threaded portion on an outer surface, and a retractable locking sleeve positioned on a portion of the coupling head. The retractable locking sleeve may have a locked position and an unlocked position for preventing and permitting the coupling head to attach to or_detach from the mating coupling. The stem coupling includes a stem locking ring having a first position preventing axial movement of the locking sleeve and a second position permitting axial movement of the locking sleeve. The stem locking ring may also include at least one of a color and indicia to alert a user to a type of media for which the stem coupling is intended.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to an end cap device for easily identifying a pipeline system. The device is interchangeable among and between pipeline systems. The device is further advantageous in that it is designed to easily fit onto various pipeline, hose line, or pipeline termination banks. The device comprises a housing, and various attachment mechanisms for an interchangeable identification card. The housing includes a top surface, an outer lateral surface, an inner lateral surface and a bottom portion. The identification card includes matching holes to align with the various attachment mechanisms. The identification card is adaptable to visually display identification information about a pipeline system.
Abstract:
The material transfer system and method of transferring materials comprises provides improved connectors that overcome the deficiencies of the connectors currently used. The connector and method of connecting of the present invention comprises a fool-proof method of connecting and a method of ensuring the safe and accurate transfer of materials. The connector of the present invention provides a plurality of male and female connector portions in a plurality of geometric shapes and colors and specific key components that prevent the delivery of and mixing of incorrect and incompatible materials. The connectors of the present invention are shaped differently from any connectors currently available on the market. Each geometric shape corresponds to a general class of chemicals. One embodiment of the present invention connector is a color coded element according to the shape, size, and configuration of the connector and the material the connector is intended to transfer. The connector comprises a seal or “O” ring disposed on the connector that is chemically and mechanically compatible with the material being transferred. A marking or label that describes the material to be transferred is disposedly attached to the connector to improve safety and accuracy of the method of transfer of the material.
