Abstract:
Of an existing macro for controlling one or more first devices, device designation information for designating each electronic device in the first devices in the macro is converted to category designation information for designating a category of the electronic device based on device information of the electronic device, and the converted existing macro is recorded. A macro usable for controlling one or more second devices is selected from recorded existing macros based on device information of a controller and the first and second devices. Category designation information in the selected macro is converted to device designation information for designating the electronic device in the second electronic devices, belonging to the category designated by the category designation information, based on the device information of the controller and the first and second devices.
Abstract:
The method governs the operation of a home automation installation comprising a portable remote control, a relay and home automation appliances, and in which at least some home automation appliances can receive, by wireless channel, control commands sent by the portable remote control. The method is such that control commands can be sent selectively according to a scenario to the home automation appliances over the same communication bearer by the relay when the latter receives a specific command sent by the portable remote control to the relay.
Abstract:
A remote control method includes: grouping a plurality of apparatuses to respond to a command from a single remote controller at the same time; broadcasting, by the remote controller, a command corresponding to an operation; receiving, by each of the plurality of apparatuses, the command and judging whether the received command is addressed to a group to which the apparatus itself belongs; and executing, when it is judged by each of the plurality of apparatuses that the received command is addressed to the apparatus itself, processing corresponding to the command.
Abstract:
Disclosed is provided an apparatus and a method for operating a macro command and inputting a macro command, wherein the apparatus including a storing unit storing control signals received from a control device for selecting of a menu item of a host device, a creating unit creating the macro command combined with the control signals, and an executing unit reading the macro command and executing functions corresponding to the respective menu item of the host device according to a combination sequence of the control signals included in the read macro command.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for saving and restoring scenes in a multimedia system with minimal configuration are provided. The techniques of the present invention can allow the states of the components in the multimedia system to be captured in a scene. Once the scene has been saved, the scene can be restored at a later time. A remote control system for recommending scenes by comparing states of components in the current scene with states of components in saved scenes is also provided. The remote control system can also recommend scenes based on usage patterns. Moreover, the remote control system can allow users to designate one or more saved scenes as favorite scenes.
Abstract:
A remote controller includes a base unit having a transmission section configured to transmit a remote control signal, a plurality of function operation units connected to the base unit and configured to operate different functions, and a priority setting section configured to set priorities of the plurality of function operation units. When each of the plurality of function operation units is operated, the transmission section of the base unit sends transmission data, the transmission data including operation data and priority data that indicates the priorities of the plurality of function operation units set by the priority setting section.
Abstract:
An remote control system includes a remote control and a corresponding electronic device. The remote control includes a transmitter module configured for transmitting signals. The electronic device includes a user-defined module configured for setting a self-defined function code correlating a desired operation of the electronic device with a button of the remote control; and a receiver module configured for receiving the signals transmitted by the transmitter module.
Abstract:
A memory device removably insertable into or otherwise removably connected to a plurality of host devices includes a first memory storing multimedia data. A first circuit portion of the memory device determines the host device capabilities when the memory device is connected to a host device and a second circuit portion feeds the multimedia data to the host device in a format compatible with the determined capabilities of the host device.
Abstract:
A remote control unit that learns commands from associated remote control units associated with specific pieces of electronic equipment is described. The remote control unit stores commands that are learned and in addition stores time delays that are needed to provide the desired sequential operation of electronic equipment. The remote control unit, upon pressing a single button, sends a replica of signals and delays that a user would use when interacting with the pieces of electronic equipment. The remote control unit further has a prohibited operation window wherein a signal cannot be sent from the remote control unit.
Abstract:
A home control and automation system and method. The system generally includes one or more wireless remote controls, a plurality of appliances (including network enabled appliances and traditional legacy appliances in the exemplary system), associated control centric devices, and associated content centric devices. Various methods for control and operation of appliances in the networked home control and automation environment are disclosed. Specifically, methods are disclosed which enable advanced home control features such as location based control setup and operation, network enabled legacy appliances and system integration, save and recall capabilities for appliance and media states, generic command based appliance controls, dynamic/complex macro command generation, and Internet based control capabilities from remote locations are disclosed in conjunction with the system of the current invention.
