Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network equipment that can easily structure a system without having a centralized resource managing function, secure expansibility of the system by the extension of a call control processor, and conceal the capabilities of user data processing parts from a call control part. SOLUTION: The user data processing parts 31 to 33 manage resources of their circuits by themselves, and inform a C plane 2 of usable resource rates of their circuits by adding them to answer messages when complying with a call setting request from the C plane 2 which is sent to establish a session, when complying with a call release request from the C plane 2 which is sent to release a session, and when answering a health check signal from the C plane 2. The C plane 2 holds the obtained usable resource rates of the user data processing parts 31 to 33, selects a user data processing part having redundancy among 31 to 33, and sends a call setting request for session establishment. Abstract:
A method of providing a service, to a plurality of terminals on a communication network, through a server on the communication network includes the following steps: 1) coupling a correlator to the network which links a unique name for the server to multiple network addresses; 2) providing a set of multiple computers on the network, each of which performs the service and is assigned a different one of the multiple network addresses; and, 3) incorporating a network address selector on the network which directs any one of the terminals to a single one of the computers, when an operator of that one terminal generates a request for the service which includes the unique name of the server. Due to this method, the server has a virtual single network address which means that from the point of view of an operator of a terminal, the service is being provided by a single computer on the network that has a single network address that corresponds to the server's unique name. But in reality, the requested service is being provided to the terminal by different computers at different times, depending upon which computer is selected by the network address selector.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content service system enabling the change of a service to be presented depending on a situation in a method in which a content utilization device connected to a network acquires an available service list from a server, and provides a service to a user on the basis of information described in the service list.SOLUTION: There is provided a content service system having a presentation condition server device that transmits a presentation condition for extracting a limited content list as a list of part of contents to be presented to a user in a content utilization device from within a distributed content list.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a home subscriber server configuration method and system that is accessible in switching to any one of plural HSS servers in a redundant configuration. Information stored in such plural HSS servers (e.g., HSS-A server 40A and HSS-B server 40B) are synchronized as identical information. When an interrogation for a particular HSS server to be accessed from the I-CSCF server 30 or the S-CSCF server 21 is received, the access information for the plural HSS servers 40A, 40B corresponding to the interrogation is returned after rearranging to the predetermined order of priority to the I-CSCF server 30 or the S-CSCF server 21 from which the inquiry is originated. If no response is received from either one of the HSS servers returned from the SLF server 50 within a predetermined time after the access or if no response is received to the resend operations, the I-CSCF server 30 or the S-CSCF server 21 selects the next HSS server from the plural HSS servers and gains access to such HSS server after switching thereto.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home subscriber server configuration method capable of switching access to any one of a plurality of HSS servers of regional redundant configurations. SOLUTION: The storage information of the plurality of HSS-A and -B servers 40A and 40B of the redundant configuration is turned to the same synchronized information; and when an SLF server 50 receives an inquiry regarding the HSS server to access from an I-/S-CSCF server 30/21, access information for each of the plurality of HSS-A and -B servers 40A and 40B pertinent to the inquiry is arrayed in a predetermined priority order and returned to the I-/S-CSCF server 30/21 of an inquiry origin. When there is no response within a prescribed time, after accessing one of the plurality of HSS servers returned from the SLF server 50, or when there is no response, even when retransmission is performed, the I-/S-CSCF server 30/21 selects the next HSS server from the plurality of HSS servers, switches the HSS server and accesses it. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To copy resources in a computer network. SOLUTION: Resource requests made by clients of starting point severs in a network are intercepted by reflector mechanisms and selectively reflected to other severs called repeaters. The reflectors select a best repeater from a set of possible repeaters and redirect the client to the selected best repeater. The client then makes the request of the selected best repeater. The resource is possibly rewritten to replace at least some of the resource identifiers contained therein with modified resource identifiers designating the repeater instead of the starting point server.
