PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission management system that is able to select a relay device used for relaying information transmitted and received between transmission terminals.SOLUTION: A transmitting/receiving unit of a management system 50 receives a relay device identification transmitted by a selecting device 80. The transmitting/receiving unit also transmits communication control request information to another management system 50 on the basis of the relay device identification. This allows a relay device 30 used for relaying content data transmitted and received between terminals 10 to be selected from relay devices 30 which can be controlled by the other management system 50.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect and accumulate the content of customer reception performed via a plurality of different types of channels.SOLUTION: A customer reception support system 20 includes: a video chat server 22; an accumulation server 24; and a summarization server 26. The video chat server 22 accepts a dialog request with a counselor from a customer terminal 10, and notifies the counselor terminal 12, and when a text dialog service is designated in the dialog request, relays text data showing the dialog content of the customer and an operator between the customer terminal 10 and the counselor terminal 12. When a voice dialog service is designated in the dialog request, the accumulation server 24 accumulates the text data obtained by converting voice data showing the dialog content of the customer and the operator. The summarization server 26 summarizes and accumulates each of the text data accumulated by the accumulation server 24 and the text data relayed by the video chat server 22.

A presence aware communications system, comprising a messaging system configured to perform at least one of the following operations: (a) provide a subscriber's communication device with information regarding an incoming contact during a messaging session between the subscriber's communication device and the messaging system; (b) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message containing information regarding one or more messages when a notification is received that the subscriber's communication device is available; (c) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message relating to a voice message from a different first party received by the messaging system; (d) in response to the subscriber's communication device requesting a connection with at least one of an inputted telephone number and address, provide the subscriber's communication device with a notification respecting at least one eligible message from a second party associated with the at least one of an inputted telephone number and address; (e) while a contact between the subscriber and a different third party is in progress, provide the subscriber's communication device with information respecting the at least one eligible message from the third party; (f) transform an audio messaging session between the messaging system and the communication device of a contacting party into a graphical user interface-based audio session; and (g) transform the audio messaging session into a session having a video channel or both audio and video channels.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem in a conventional technology: in using materials stored in a computer other than a transmission terminal in a meeting, the computer must be connected to a transmission system to perform authentication through a transmission control system and determination of a display data destination, resulting in increased processing load through the transmission management system to connect a computer which is a transmission source of image data and voice data and is other than the transmission terminal, to the transmission system.SOLUTION: An address of a relay device where image data or voice data is transmitted is stored in a transmission terminal. The transmission terminal receives display data of a material from an external input device which is not under management of a transmission management system, and transmits the display data to the relay device as indicated by the stored address. Thereby, the material can be referred to by meeting members without a series of processes such as letting the external device log into the transmission management system and selecting the relay device. And, a load in managing the external input device by the transmission management system is decreased.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conference system with a multicast terminal and a unicast terminal. SOLUTION: A telecommunications system 10 includes a multicast IP or PMP (Point-to-Multipoint) ATM terminal 12 having audio and video streams. The system 10 includes a unicast terminal 14 having only an audio stream. The system includes a mixer 20 configured to form a call between the multicast IP or PMP ATM terminal 12 and the unicast terminal 14. The mixer 20 converts an upstream telephone audio stream from the unicast terminal 14 to a PMP audio stream for the multicast IP or PMP ATM terminal 12, and mixes/converts a downstream PMP/multicast audio stream from the multicast IP or PMP ATM terminal 12 to a unicast telephone audio stream for the unicast terminal 14. Abstract:
Users, who have simultaneous access to a plurality of terminal devices, can enter into a multimedia, multiterminal user session. In a negotiation phase users agree on which media to use in a multimedia session and select the most appropriate types of terminal devices that support the selected media. Each terminal device is connected to one of a plurality of interworking communications networks. A network node (130) that is reached through any of the plurality of interworking networks manages creation and supervision of sub-sessions involving the selected terminal devices such that each type of terminal device carry at least one selected media. A versatile and media rich communication is obtained in which terminal devices currently available at a local environment are efficiently used.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection apparatus and a connection method, which can interconnect a single-sided conference terminal and a multiscreen conference terminal using multiple video images without requiring complicated operation for a user. SOLUTION: The connection apparatus includes: an address storing section for storing address information of a single-screen conference terminal and address information of the connection apparatus; a media information acquiring section for acquiring information on media which can be handled by a plurality of single-screen conference terminals and storing the information collectively as first media information; a session control section for acquiring second media information which is information on media handled by the multiscreen conference terminals and establishing a session for the multiscreen conference terminals using the address information of the connection apparatus and the first media information acquired by the media information acquiring section; and a media control section for establishing a session for the single-screen conference terminals using the second media information acquired by the session control section and controlling media transmission and reception of the single-screen conference terminals.
