Ce dispositif comprend des moyens d'introduction du support, des moyens de lecture des informations se trouvant sur le support, des moyens de traitement des informations lues sur le support en vue de leur conversion en données numériques et de leur transmission. Les moyens de lecture comprennent un détecteur d'images (15) de forme allongée suspendu dans un boîtier (1,2,3) et présentant à ses extrémités des moyens de montage (20) coopérant avec des moyens de montage (21) complémentaires prévus dans les parois d'extrémité correspondantes (2,3) du boîtier, des organes élastiques (23) interposés entre le détecteur d'image (15) et le boîtier (22), des moyens d'entraînement des supports d'informations devant le détecteur d'images, comprenant un rouleau (17) et un moteur électrique (50) de mise en rotation du rouleau, ledit rouleau (17) étant monté dans les parois d'extrémité (2,3) du boîtier au moyen de verrous (37,38) et assurant le maintien du détecteur d'images (15) dans ledit boîtier, les organes élastiques (23) assurant l'application du détecteur d'images (15) contre la surface du rouleau.

An automatic sheet conveying mechanism comprising upper and lower casings (101a,101b) mutually coupling sheet conveying paths in a releasable state, and a sheet guide plate for partitioning the sheet conveying paths together with the lower casing, guiding the lower surface of the sheet being conveyed, and defining the projecting extent of the functional parts supported by the lower casing into the sheet conveying path, in which the sheet guide plate is formed integrally with the lower casing.

An image sensor has a supporting member for integrally supporting a reading system including illuminating means for illuminating an original document, a photoelectrically converting means and imaging means for imaging light reflected by the surface of the original document onto the photoelectrically converting means, and has a member disposed on the side surface of the supporting member. The image sensor has two or more substantially independent spaces formed in the supporting member. The illuminating means, the imaging means and the photoelectrically converting means are accommodated in one of the spaces.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device that easily assembles an imaging part, irradiating part, and setting part, which has been divided as plural units, in accurate positions to one another.SOLUTION: A center unit (irradiating part) 246 is configured to be positioned relative to an upper unit (imaging part) 248 with positioning pins 426, 438 and positioning holes 430, 436; and a lower unit (setting part) 250 is configured to be positioned relative to the center unit (irradiating part) 246 with positioning pins 454, 458 and positioning holes 452, 460.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the pitch unevenness of scanning exposure due to the vibration at the mounting part of a scanner with a spring in an image forming apparatus having a scanning optical apparatus (scanner) 2. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus provided with the scanning optical apparatus 2 which is mounted by being inserted substantially horizontally with respect to the body of the image forming apparatus has: a plate spring member 11 which energizes in substantially vertical direction the body of the image forming apparatus for fixing the scanning optical apparatus on the body of the image forming apparatus in a state that the scanning optical apparatus 2 is inserted in a predetermined insertion position of the body of the image forming apparatus, or the end part 10 provided on the scanning optical apparatus in the insertion direction of the scanning optical apparatus; and a cushion member 13 which pressurizes the body of the image forming apparatus and the scanning optical apparatus via the plate spring member 11.
