PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and communication apparatus for handling a contention-based random access procedure in UE (user equipment) of a wireless communication system, so as to appropriately terminate retransmission of a scheduled transmission message for preventing uplink transmission of other UE from being interfered. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: sending a scheduled transmission message, which applies an HARQ (hybrid automatic repeat request) process for transmission; starting a contention resolution timer and monitoring a PDCCH (physical downlink control channel); and eliminating the content of a buffer of the HARQ process when a contention result of the contention-based random access procedure is determined, to terminate the retransmission of the scheduled transmission message. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enhancing efficiency of radio resource control (RRC) process re-initiation for a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: The UE includes a plurality of RRC process, which are started with a random access preamble process. The method includes initiating an RRC process of the plurality of RRC procedures, initiating the random access preamble process corresponding to the initiated RRC process, transmitting an RRC request message corresponding to the initiated RRC process after completion of the random access preamble process, and re-initiating the random access preamble process when receiving a contention resolution message which corresponds to the random access preamble procedure, but does not belong to the initiated RRC process. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for managing a DL DRX (downlink discontinuous reception) function in a UE (user terminal) in a radio communications system so as to avoid a system error due to actuation with a wrong function parameter when the UE enters a CELL_DCH (cell-only channel) state. SOLUTION: The method includes the stages of: actuating an RRC (radio resource control) connection establishment process; requesting the network to establish an RRC connection; receiving a request acceptance message including a first IE instructing the UE to enter a specified RRC state and a second IE providing parameter settings of the DL DRX function; and ignoring the second IE when the specified RRC state is an RRC state exclusive for radio resources.
