Abstract:
A penile implant includes an inflatable bladder providing a fluid chamber, a distal tip extending from a distal end of the inflatable bladder, and a proximal tip assembly extending from a proximal end of the inflatable bladder. The proximal tip assembly includes a tip core providing a first proximal tip diameter and a tip sleeve disposed over the tip core to provide a second proximal tip diameter that is larger than the first proximal tip diameter. The tip sleeve is removable from the tip core to provide the penile implant with a proximal tip that is convertible between the first and second proximal tip diameters.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for manufacturing a skin-friendly pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, said method comprising the steps of: a. providing a matrix composition comprising a polymeric photoinitiator of the general formula (I): R 1 (A 1 ) r -(R 2 (A 2 ) m -0) o -(R 3 (A 3 )n-O) p -R4(A 4 ) s (I) and b. curing the matrix composition in step a. by exposing it to UV radiation. The matrix composition may additionally comprise one or more adhesive-forming polymers and/or adhesive-forming monomers, or may simply consist of the polymeric photoinitiator of the general formula I, as defined herein. The invention also relates to the skin-friendly pressure- sensitive adhesive composition obtained by the method of the invention, as well as a medical device comprising said adhesive composition.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for the manufacture of a catheter comprising a hydrophilic gel. The method comprising the steps of combining a polymeric photoinitiator of the general formula (I): R 1 (A 1 ) r - (R 2 (A 2 )m-O) o - ( R 3 (A 3 ) n - O) p - R 4 (A 4 ) s (I) with one or more gel-forming polymers and/or gel-forming monomers to form a matrix composition, curing the matrix composition by exposing it to UV radiation, exposing the matrix composition to a swelling medium and incorporating the hydrophilic gel into a catheter. The invention also provides autocuring of the polymeric photoinitiator (I) to provide a gel precursor, a hydrophilic gel and a catheter comprising or coated with the hydrophilic gel of the invention.

The present invention relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive composition for skin application. The adhesive composition comprises 10-50% (w/w) based on the total adhesive composition of a polar part; 10-50% (w/w) based on the total adhesive composition of an apolar part; and 0-60% (w/w) based on the total adhesive composition of hydrocolloid.
Abstract:
An ostomy body side member with a sealing member is provided. The sealing member has a fixed base member defining an opening having a first diameter and a resilient sealing element comprising a stoma receiving orifice defining an inner boundary. The inner boundary of the stoma receiving orifice has a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter of the frame. The sealing member is also provided with at least one adjustment member coupled between the fixed base member and the resilient sealing element. Furthermore, an alignment member for adjusting the tension of the at least one adjustment member is provided thereby allowing the diametrical dimension of the stoma sealing orifice to be adjusted from a first diameter to a second diameter.

Abstract:
A body implantable penile prosthetic assembly includes a pump and a release mechanism and a method of providing a user with the body implantable penile prosthetic assembly. The pump is connectable to a pressure reservoir and a penile implant, where the pressure reservoir contains a pressurized liquid at a first pressure when implanted. The release mechanism is connectable between the pressure reservoir and the penile implant and is configured to release the pressurized liquid from the pressure reservoir to inflate the penile implant to a second pressure that is less than the first pressure. The pump is operable to transfer the pressurized liquid from the penile implant to the pressure reservoir to deflate the penile implant, and pressurize the pressurized liquid in the pressure reservoir from the second pressure to at least the first pressure.
Abstract:
A filter case (100) for an ostomy appliance is provided. The filter case allows the filter element (104) to be incorporated in the coupling of an ostomy appliance. The filter case has a large inlet area and a large outlet area so that large amounts of flatus gasses can be filtered. The filter case may be provided in two parts (101,102), each part adapted to cooperate with the other. Additionally, the filter case may be adapted to cooperate with two parts (120,130) of a regular mechanical coupling of an ostomy appliance. The two parts can be permanently attached to each other or they may be attached by other means. An ostomy appliance including a filter case is also provided.
