Abstract:
An elastic membrane is provided for use in a flow-control device comprising a housing with a seat of a predetermined shape and dimensions for the membrane such that when the membrane is mounted in the seat, the membrane is deflected by a pressure differential between its two opposite sides. The elastic membrane has a predetermined shape and dimensions matching the seat and is made of foamed elastomer with closed cells of predetermined cell density and morphology.
Abstract:
A valve assembly includes an inlet and an outlet, and has a first state where liquid is stopped from flowing from the inlet towards the outlet, a second state where liquid is released to flow from the inlet towards and out of the outlet, and a terminal state where after flowing out of the outlet, the liquid is stopped form flowing out of the outlet. An incoming command triggers the valve assembly from the first state towards the second state and, at or after reaching the terminal state, the valve assembly transmits an outgoing command.
Abstract:
An irrigation system is provided for irrigating a field divided into irrigation zones. The irrigation zones are arranged in columns extending alongside each other. The system has irrigation strips and a control head at an upstream end of each irrigation strip. Each irrigation strip provides irrigation substances to a column of zones. All control heads are located alongside a boundary of the field outside of the irrigation zones. This permits maintenance of the control heads without the need to enter the irrigation zones.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of indoor mushroom cultivation comprising the steps of: providing a horizontally extending bed, providing drip irrigation pipes that are disposed in the bed, and irrigating liquid using the disposed drip irrigation pipes, wherein an amount A of liquid irrigated is determined according to a measure M taken of water evaporation in the indoor environment outside of the bed.
Abstract:
A tensiometer for use in determining matric potential of a soil comprising: a water inlet; a hydraulic coupler comprising a porous material for providing hydraulic coupling between water that enters the inlet and the soil; and a septum that seals water that enters the inlet against ingress of air via the porous material.
