    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film having excellent heat sealability and high gas barrier properties and also excellent in fabricability such as vacuum deposition, slitting and lamination and being desirable for various gas barrier packaging. SOLUTION: There is provided a non-oriented polyolefin film prepared by adding 0.01-0.5 wt.%, in total, additives to a polyolefin resin, wherein the absolute value of the percentage dimensional change of the non-oriented film in the longer direction is 2% or below when heated at 120 deg.C for 15 min, and the total amount of volatile component is 200 μg/g or below when the non-oriented film is heated at 130 deg.C for 5 min and measured with gas chromatography.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester film excellent in formability, heat resistance and taste-keeping capability and suitable for a metallic can produced by forming and processing, by incorporating particles with a specified shape into a polyester. SOLUTION: Organic or inorganic particles in an amount of 0.005-10wt.% are incorporated into a polyester of which at least 93wt.% of the constituent units comprise ethylene terephthalate units and/or ethylene naphthalate units to give a biaxially oriented polyester film for forming a container. The particles used comprise those having a volume-mean particle diameter of 0.005-5.0μm, a relative standard deviation, represented by the formula (wherein σ is a relative standard deviation; D is a number average particle diameter μm; Di is a particle diameter μm; and n is the number of particles), of at most 0.5, a length/width ratio of (1.0 to 1.2):1, and a Mohs hardness of less than 7. A film excellent also in laminating characteristics and scraping resistance can be obtained by thus controlling the structure of film.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve laminating properties and heat resistance and in particular to improve taste characteristics manufactured by molding processing by constituting a specified amt. of constituting units of a polyester consisting of ethylene terephthalate unit and specifying crystalline size in a specified directional plane obtd. from X-ray diffraction measurement. SOLUTION: This film consists of a polyester wherein at least 93mol%, pref. at least 96mol% of the constitutional unit are ethylene terephthalate units. Biaxial drawing is necessary for the polyester wherein ethylene terephthalate is a main constitutional ingredient and crystal size of (100) plane obtd. by X-ray diffraction measurement is at most 6nm. It is pref. from the point of view for making moldability thereafter and impact resistance good that m.p. of this polyester is pref. 246-280 deg.C and furthermore, plane orientation coefficient is at most 0.17, especially pref. at most 0.15 for making laminating properties better.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film having excellent moldability and taste characteristics by controlling amorphous Young's modulus to a specific value in view of the Young's modulus caused by the film amorphous ingredient. SOLUTION: It is necessary from the points of developing excellent moldability, impact resistance and taste characteristics that the amorphous Young's modulus in both the lengthwise direction and the width direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of biaxially orienting of a polyester film are 120 to 220kg/mm , preferably 130 to 210kg/mm or more preferably 150 to 190kg/mm . As a method for arriving the amorphous Young's modulus at 120 to 220kg/mm , it can be performed by adopting a high temperature orienting method at the time of manufacturing the film, and is not particularly limited. For example, it can be achieved by optimizing the intrinsic viscosity of the raw material, catalyst, diethylene glycol amount, orienting conditions, heat treating conditions.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve oxygen and steam gas barrier property of a transparent gas barrier film by providing a film consisting of inorganic oxide on at least one face of a polyester film and specifying refractive index of the film. SOLUTION: On at least one face of a polyester film, a film formed of inorganic oxide is provided by a continuous vacuum metallizer. For setting the refractive index of the film to 1.51-1.65, purity of an inorganic material, oxidation number of the inorganic oxide, and aging after metallization are adjusted and selected. Accordingly, the oxygen and steam gas barrier property of the gas barrier film can be improved, so that the film can be used in a wide range, mainly for packing foods.
