Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength of glazing and to surely maintain the glazing in fillisters after a first impact, in a fixed or mobile side armored glazing for an armored vehicle such as a special vehicle or a military vehicle. SOLUTION: The armored bulletproof and/or brokenpieceproof glazing comprises one or more rigid protrusions 3 on at least a part of its periphery. Each rigid protrusion belongs substantially to a plane parallel with a plane of the glazing or its extension, and has a thickness that can be inserted at least partially, temporarily or permanently in a window aperture rabbet. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat surface-type display device in which a glass material suitable for thining and reduction in weight is used. SOLUTION: In an image display panel constituted of at least two sheets of glass substrates and a light-emitting part formed between the glass substrates, and the flat surface-type display device using the display panel, each glass substrate is formed from a glass material containing SiO 2 as a main component and 1-20 wt.% of at least one kind selected from La, Sc, Y, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu. Abstract:
Transparent laminated bulletproof and/or splinter-proof structure comprising three stacks of glass sheets (a, c; e, g, i; k) all connected together by adhesive interlayers (b, d, f, h, j), in which: the first stack (a, c) is adjacent to and protrudes from the second stack (e, g, i), which is itself adjacent to and protrudes from the third stack (k); a liner (q, s, u) made of bulletproof and/or splinter-proof material is bonded to the laminated structure on the free peripheral surface of the first stack (a, c), the edge and the free peripheral surface of the second stack (e, g, i) and the edge of the third stack (k); and a transparent plastic sheet (m) is bonded to the liner (u) and to the free face of the third stack (k). Manufacturing process, application of this laminated structure, and glazing comprising it.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A composite article includes a first window layer formed from a vitreous material and a reinforced silicone layer disposed adjacent the first window layer. The reinforced silicone layer includes a cured silicone composition and a fiber reinforcement. Due to the presence of the cured silicone composition in the reinforced silicone layer, the composite article exhibits excellent fire resistance and will not emit as much smoke and toxic gases as composite articles including primarily carbon-based materials. Further, due to the presence of the fiber reinforcement in the reinforced silicone layer, the composite article maintains excellent structural integrity even after a breach is formed in the composite article due to heat. As such, the composite articles of the subject invention may be suitable for load-bearing applications that are not possible with existing composite articles.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a ballistic resistant laminated structure comprising at least three glass sheets (1, 3, 5) a polycarbonate sheet (11) which are bound by adhesive layers (2, 4, 10) and a shielding insert (20), wherein a space delimited by said insert (20), the end face of the sheet (5) and the edge of the sheet (11) are provided with a material (30, 31) for absorbing the energy of a projectile. Said materials (30, 31) are embodied in the form of an yielding material (30) for degassing during assembling said stricture and an encapsulating material (31). A highly ballistic resistant glazing for a building or a transport vehicle comprising the inventive structure is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a glass sandwich plate comprising a spacer system (12) that is disposed between two glass panes (10, 11) and is formed in a connected manner from a 0.2 mm thick aluminum sheet by punching and deforming processes in such a way that webs (18) are created which extend at different angles in relation to the glass panes. Said webs (18) extend between flat connecting zones (17) in which the spacer system (12) is glued to the glass panes (10, 11) by means of radiation-hardened acrylate adhesive or epoxy resin adhesive. The sandwich plate that is designed in this manner is provided with great breaking resistance and a low weight while being suitable as a screen or protective device against the sun.
