A magnetic can-body standing-up apparatus (Z) comprises an inlet transporting device (10) for conveying lying can bodies (4), a transporting device (12) arranged above the inlet transporting device (10) for conveying upright can bodies (9) hanging on the transporting device (12), and a controller (13). A first magnet arrangement (1) which is activatable and deactivatable in a manner controllable by the controller (13) is arranged below the inlet transporting device (10) in such a manner that a can body (4) lying on the inlet transporting device (10) is magnetically securable in a releasable manner on the inlet transporting device (10). A second magnet arrangement (2) is arranged above a region of the inlet transporting device (10) in which the can bodies are transported and is configured in such a manner that a can body (4) lying on the inlet transporting device (10) can be lifted up by means of the magnetic field of the second magnet arrangement (2) when the magnetic field of the first magnet arrangement (1) is deactivated. A third magnet arrangement (3) is provided above the transporting device (12) and is configured and arranged in such a manner that a can body (4a) which has been lifted up can be lifted up further and can be lifted off the inlet transporting device (10) and can be transported upright hanging magnetically on the transporting device (12). The controller (13) is configured in order to activate the first magnet arrangement (1) when a front edge of a can body (4) lying on the inlet transporting device (10) passes the second magnet arrangement (2) and in order to deactivate the first magnet arrangement (1) when a trailing edge of said can body (4) comes to lie under the second magnet arrangement (2).

The invention relates to a device for transporting containers (4), which device has a turntable having format parts (1, 2, 17, 18) which are disposed one above the other and have on their respective external circumference a plurality of star wheel pockets (4) for receiving a respective container (3), at least one of the format parts (1, 2, 17, 18) being rotatable in the circumferential direction relative to at least one other, such that an amount of opening of the star wheel pockets (4) can be adjusted. According to the invention, in each case two format parts (1, 2; 17, 18) disposed one above the other each have at least one control element (5, 6; 21, 22), wherein the control elements (5, 6; 21, 22) of format parts (1, 2; 17, 18) disposed directly one above the other have a different orientation, wherein an adjusting element (7, 24) is provided which engages both in the control element (5, 6; 21, 22) of one format part (1, 2; 17, 18) and in the control element (5, 6; 21, 22) of the other format part (1, 2; 17, 18).

A container group delivery mechanism, comprising an air flow conveyor (12) capable of receiving a container group on the uppermost stage raised by a lift and transporting the container group in lateral direction, an extruding part (23) allowed to abut on the container group on the uppermost stage from one side thereof and protruding the container group onto the air flow conveyor (12) adjacent thereto by the lateral movement of the protruded part to the other side, a forward falling preventing part (24) capable of switching between a closed state thereof capable of preventing containers from falling down forward by positioning forward of the container group in protruding direction according to the lateral movement of the extruded part (23) forward in extruding direction and an open state thereof capable of discharging the container group by opening the forward of the container group in extruding direction when the container group comes over the air flow conveyor (12), and a speed changing mechanism (62) capable of changing the relative speed between a transporting speed by the air flow conveyor (12) and an extruding speed by the extruding part (23).

An air conveyer 12 is provided for receiving an uppermost container group elevated by a lift device and transporting the container group horizontally. A pushing device 23 is provided for pushing the uppermost container group onto the adjacent airflow conveyer 12 by contacting the container group at one side thereof and moving horizontally toward the other side. A forward-fall preventive device 24 is provided to be switchable between a closed state for lying forwardly in a pushing direction of the container group, as the pushing device 23 moves horizontally, to be capable of preventing a forward fall of containers, and an open state for opening a forward position in the pushing direction of the container group when the container group rides the airflow conveyer 12 to enable a discharge of the container group. A speed varying mechanism 62 is provided for varying a relative speed between a transport speed of the airflow conveyer 12 and a pushing speed of the pushing device 23.
