Abstract:
A method of making a release coated article is described comprising: providing a release coating composition comprising at least 50 wt. % of a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers based on the total ethylenically unsaturated components; wherein the mixture comprises monomer(s) with a linear alkyl group with at least 18 carbon atoms, and monomer(s) with a branched alkyl group with 7 to 31 carbon atoms, and crosslinking component(s) comprising at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups. The method comprises applying the release coating to a major surface of a substrate and polymerizing the monomer(s) and crosslinking component(s) of the release coating. The monomer(s) with linear alkyl groups and branched alkyl groups are typically present at a weight ratio such that the release coating is a liquid at 25° C. Also described are release coating compositions and articles.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a multilayer flexible material (of a tape type) which can be applied and adhere onto a surface to modify its properties. Particularly, an antibacterial and/or antiviral multilayers material comprising a tie binding layer with at least one adhesive face arranged to be fixed on any suitable surface and an active treatment layer arranged on the face of the tie binding layer opposite to adhesive face, said treatment layer comprising anti-bacterial and/or anti-viral agents. The invention is also related to an associated application method and specific uses.
Abstract:
A label assembly including one or more dissolvable thermal direct adhesive labels and methods of assembly and use. According to one embodiment, each label includes a base layer, a thermal direct layer, an adhesive layer, and a barrier layer. The base layer, which has an upper surface and a lower surface, is water-dissolvable and may be made of a water-dissolvable paper. The thermal direct layer is positioned directly over the upper surface of the base layer and functions in the conventional manner to produce markings therein in response to heat. The adhesive layer is water-dissolvable and is positioned below the lower surface of the base layer. The barrier layer, which is positioned directly below the lower surface of the base layer and directly over the adhesive layer, serves to prevent migration of the adhesive layer through the base layer and into contact with the thermal direct layer.
Abstract:
A multilayer tape assembly is described which can be used with insulation jacketing and particularly for self sealing lap (SSL) applications. The tape assembly includes two adhesive layers with associated carrier and release layers in conjunction with a differential release system. Various methods of use are also described.
Abstract:
There is provided a vinyl alcohol-based polymer having an ethylenic double bond with a saponification degree of 70 mol % or more, wherein the vinyl alcohol-based polymer is water-soluble; a molar ratio of the ethylenic double bond to the total of vinyl alcohol units and vinyl acetate units is 0.05/100 to 2/100; and a limiting viscosity [η] and a weight-average molecular weight Mw of a vinyl ester-based polymer which is produced by esterifying the vinyl alcohol-based polymer satisfy the following formulas (1) and (2). 4.7≦log Mw 6.3 (1) 0.60
Abstract:
Stiffening assemblies for use with labels or shelf label channels are described. The stiffening assemblies can be incorporated with one or more labels and provided so as to be conveniently used with shelf label channels or other point-of-sale displays.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a pressure sensitive adhesive tape coated with a release agent prepared from a diisocyanate, silicone carbinol and diol having alkyl groups wherein the sum of carbon atoms in the alkyl groups bonded to the alpha carbon atoms relative to a hydroxyl group is 5-15.
