    Abstract: PURPOSE: A compression system for cryogenic refrigeration with multicomponent refrigerant is provided to get an improved system for generating refrigeration at a cryogenic temperature. CONSTITUTION: A multicomponent refrigerant as a refrigeration fluid is compressed in a compressor(10) lubricated with polyalhaolefin-based oil. The oil is removed from the compressed refrigerant with separator(20) and oil filters(25,26) and the compressed refrigerant is expanded by expansion valve(45) to generate at a cryogenic temperature for suction to a refrigeration receptor(51). A compression system for cryogenic refrigeration with multicomponent refrigerant(31) includes an oil lubrication compressor, an oil separation system, a device for supplying the multicomponent refrigerant from the compressor to the oil separation system, and a device for supplying lubricating oil from the oil separation system to the compressor. The compression system includes an expansion device, a heat exchanger(50), device for supplying the multicomponent from the oil separation system to the expansion device, from the expansion device to the heat exchanger, and from the heat exchanger to the compressor. The compression system includes a device for supplying refrigeration from the multicomponent to a refrigeration receptor by supplying the refrigeration receptor to the heat exchanger.
