Abstract:
The present invention relates to improved metallurgical powder compositions that incorporate solid lubricants, methods for preparing and using the same, and methods of making compacted parts. The solid lubricants contain functionalized polyalkylene lubricants substituted with functional groups selected from the group consisting of a phosphate group, phosphite group, hypophosphate, hypophosphite, polyphosphate, thiophosphate, dithiophosphate, thiocarbamate, dithiocarbamate, borate, thiosulfate, sulfate group, or sulfonate group.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to improved metallurgical powder compositions that incorporate solid lubricants, methods for preparing and using the same, and methods of making compacted parts. Ejection properties, such as stripping pressure and sliding pressure, of compacted parts can be improved by using the solid lubricants. The solid lubricants contain functionalized polyalkylene glycol lubricants that contain a phosphate group, phosphite group, hypophosphate group, hypophosphite group, polyphosphate group, thiophosphate group, dithiophosphate group, thiocarbamate group, dithiocarbamate group, borate group, thiosulfate group, sulfate group, a sulfonate group or combinations thereof.
Abstract:
A rheologically controlled glass lubricant for hot metal working comprises a glass powder, a binder, a rheological agent, and a weetting and viscosity modifier. These materials may be dispersed in a carrier. The lubricant is made by mixing the constituent elements, milling the mixture, and stabilizing the milled mixture. The lubricant can be used in a forging operation by coating a metal part with the lubricant, heating the coated part, placing the coated heated part in a forge, and rapidly applying sufficient pressure to deform the coated metal part into a desired shape.
Abstract:
Composite bearings employing cold forming and sintering techniques. Improvements in compositions for impregnating porous layers of composite bearings are provided comprising lead or lead alloy, perfluorinated polymer, particulate thermoplastic polymer and clay in particular proportions. When such materials are formed into bearings and subsequently sintered, improved resistance to stripping and wear is provided.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a material useful as an abrasion resistant material, a photocatalytic material exhibiting high performance, a material for photoelectric conversion elements and the like, without adopting a complicated process and troublesome handling which are problems in the conventional art.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for manufacturing a surface-treated metal titanium material or a titanium alloy material, the method including the steps of: (1) forming titanium nitride on a surface of the metal titanium; and (2) heating, in an oxidative atmosphere, the metal titanium material obtained in step (1) having titanium nitride formed on the surface thereof. The method also includes, between the steps (1) and (2), a step of forming oxidized film on titanium by performing anode oxidation on the metal titanium material obtained in step (1) having titanium nitride formed on the surface thereof, in an electrolyte having no etching property against titanium. Further, a surface treatment material is provided.
