A method of breaking a gas lock in an electrical submersible pump, comprising: a) monitoring a measured value related to the electrical current used by a pump motor connected to and providing power to the pump; b) comparing the measured value to a threshold value to detect the occurrence of gas lock conditions; and when those conditions are detected; c) sending an override signal to immediately reduce the flow to the pump for a set period of time; and d) comparing the measured value related to the electrical current to the threshold value at the end of the set period of time, and if gas lock conditions are not detected, then increasing the power to the pump.

The invention provides methods and systems for starting auxiliary systems, comprising an auxiliary pump system having: a) a motorpump assembly having a constant displacement pump coupled to an electric motor; b) a hydraulic accumulator in fluid communication with said motorpump assembly; and c) lines to at least on auxiliary system in fluid communication with said motorpump assembly.

A method and apparatus for a pump and a pump control system. The apparatus includes a pressure sensor and a temperature sensor coupled to a pump control system. For the method of the invention, the microcontroller provides a pulse-width modulation control signal to an output power stage in order to selectively control the power provided to the pump.

A pumping system for evacuating an enclosure comprises a pumping mechanism (30), a motor (32) for driving the pumping mechanism, and a controller (36) for controlling the motor. The controller sets a maximum value for a rotational frequency of the motor and a maximum value for a current in the motor, and, to optimise the performance of the pumping system, independently adjusts the maximum values during evacuation of the enclosure.
Abstract:
It is provided a compressor controller and control method for starting a compressor while minimizing a starting current when starting and driving a compressor being applied to a thermo refrigeration system and at the same time for detecting an operational error of the system to protect the system. In the compressor controller and control method, a voltage of a compressor main coil is limited by using a triac, and the triac and each of start up compensation condensers are coupled to photo couplers to thereby compare each signal provided from the photo couplers and control a compressor drive, so that a circuit failure is detected, thereby preventing a contagion effect caused by the failure to realize a stable drive of compressor.
