Abstract:
A hand-held housing contains an image sensor, a processor, a memory, a visual display and input control buttons for recording, storing, displaying and retrieving images from a document, such as a business card. The image sensor generates electrical data signals representative of the image on a document as the housing is moved across the document in a scanning embodiment or the images on a document disposed beneath the housing in a single record embodiment, which signals are stored in the memory by the processor and concurrently displayed on the display. The input control buttons, through the control program executed by the processor, provide for scanning, storage and retrieval of images from memory for display. The processor stores the images in a linked list or lists in the memory and is capable of rearranging, adding or deleting any image associated with a particular document in any list in the memory.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus having a display means includes an original inlet for feeding in an original, an original outlet for discharging the original, and feeding structure for feeding the original from said original inlet to said original outlet through a predetermined feeding path. The feeding path includes an upwardly-inclined portion between the original inlet and the original outlet. Reading circuitry is disposed along the feeding path for reading an image from the original being fed in order to output an image signal corresponding to the read image. A display is disposed above the original inlet and has a display surface substantially parallel to the upwardly-inclined portion of the feeding path, for displaying the read image thereon based on the image signal outputted from the reading circuitry. A recording section may be provided for recording the image signal outputted from the reading circuitry onto a recording medium. Preferably, the display is vertically-disposed with the original inlet being below the display and the original outlet being above the display.
Abstract:
An image scanner, in one of a system in which reading of data is performed by shifting a case with an image sensor incorporated therein relative to the surface of a fixed original, is disclosed comprising a window provided on the case for enabling the operator to make visual observation of data being read. The window is provided put therein with a member of frosted glass or the like capable of forming an image thereon, whereby the image of the data being read is adapted to be formed on this member.
Abstract:
The apparatus consists of a hand device (3) and a control device (1) which are interconnected by a flexible cable (2). The hand device, which has a mechanism (17) with shafts (18) and a line-long optical scanner (13), is moved by hand across the document (21) to scan the document in a raster line mode. The display of the scanned document area by the display device (9) and the transfer into a memory of the control device (1) are selectable via key switches (6, 7) fitted in handles (5).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of suppressing diffusion of reflected light from a reading medium when the exposed reading medium is subjected to light.SOLUTION: A presser plate 1-1 is used for an overhead-type scanner 1 which comprises an imaging part 22 for taking an image of a reading medium S placed on a vertical lower placement surface 2, and a light source 21 for applying light to the reading medium. The presser plate 1-1 includes a presser plate body 4 for holding the reading medium from above in a vertical direction, and a plurality of antiglare parts 5 which are arranged inside the presser plate body. The presser plate body allows light transmission, and the antiglare part blocks reflected light 9, reflected toward the side opposite to the side of incident light 7 from the light source with respect to a vertical axis V, of reflected light from the reading medium.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic magnifying glass which enables easy position recognition when a display position is moved during enlarged display, and is capable of improving visibility. SOLUTION: An imaging part 11 images an object like a character, and a display part 17 displays the picked-up image of the object. An operation state determination part 14 determines an operation state on the basis of acceleration of a device body detected by an acceleration sensor 13. A display control part 16 changes display magnification of the picked-up image of the object on the basis of a determination signal from the operation state determination part 14. Here, when an acceleration equal to or higher than a prescribed value is detected, it is determined that the operation of high-speed movement is performed, and a display state is switched to a normal display state with the display magnification reduced. After the lapse of a prescribed time or upon detection of an acceleration equal to or lower than the prescribed value, the display magnification is gradually raised and a display state is shifted to an enlarged display state. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for previewing document processing media prior to rendering a document. SOLUTION: Image data representing a sheet medium on which rendering of an associated electronic document is available are first received. Next, a visual representation of at least a portion of the sheet medium is generated on a display based upon received image data. Selection data are then received corresponding to a selection of a document processing operation that is targeted for the sheet medium according to the generated visual representation. A document processing operation is then commenced, which results in the rendering on the sheet medium of the associated electronic document. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
