In a receiver computer 100, a transmission controller 111 transmits user interface data 171 to a transmitter computer 200. In the transmitter computer 200, a display processing unit 213 causes a user interface for inputting print settings information to be displayed on the screen of a monitor 250, based on the transmitted user interface data 171. When the print settings information is input via an input device 240, a transmission controller 211 transmits color image data 271, color-correction source data 272, and the input print settings information to the receiver computer 100. In the receiver computer 100, a print processing unit 114 carries out a variety of processing operations with respect to color image data, based on the print settings information. A color correction element 118 in the print processing unit 114 carries out a color correction of the color image data using the color-correction source data 272 and color-correction destination data 172 read from a hard disk 170. A printer 180 prints a color image, which is expressed by the contents of the color-corrected color image data. This arrangement enables a printer connected to the receiver computer to print a color image based on the print data transmitted from the transmitter computer via a computer network, even if a printer driver exclusively provided for the printer has not been installed in the transmitter computer.

The invention provides a facsimile which automatically switches communication networks depending upon the reading mode of the reading means for reading the image information of an original. Specifically, a facsimile is provided with reading means for reading the image information of an original and setting means for setting the reading mode of the reading means and which sends information read by the reading means via either the Internet or a public switched network. If a reading mode set by the setting means is a predetermined reading mode, switching means switches to sending the read information using the Internet.

PURPOSE: An information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and an information processing program storage medium are provided to enable the use of plural set values even when an information processing function in registration is different from an information processing function in reuse. CONSTITUTION: A multifunction device(10) includes a reading unit(12) provided in an upper portion thereof, and an image formation unit arranged below the reading unit. The reading unit has a conveyance unit(18) inside a cover(16). The conveyance unit pulls in an original(20) loaded on a feeder tray(16A) provided in the cover in sequence and conveys the original onto a platen glass. The reading unit reads an image recorded on the original conveyed on the platen glass, and generates image data corresponding to the image. The conveyance unit discharges, onto a discharge tray(16B), the original after the reading of the image thereof has completed. The reading unit is provided with a user interface(22), which enables various operation inputs by a user. The user interface includes a touch-panel-type display(24) on which various types of information are displayed and display buttons that realizes input of information by a software program are displayed, and hardware keys(26) such as ten keys and a start key. In the user interface, various types of information, for example, a scale factor when the copy function is used, a telephone number of a communication destination when the facsimile function is used, and the like are inputted by the display buttons of the display and the hardware keys, and the inputted information is received by the multifunction device. The image formation unit has a sheet feeding tray(28) in which recording sheets used as an image formation medium are contained. The image formation unit takes out the recording sheets one by one from the sheet feeding tray, and forms images in accordance with the image data by, for example, an electro-photographic process while conveying the recording sheet. An image source apparatus, a method for acquiring information from a printer, and a computer-readable recording medium are provided to provide direct printing which is safely operated in a single task OS(Operating System). An image source apparatus for performing print of a printer by sending image data to the directly connected printer comprises the followings: a driver for sending image data to a printer according to a predetermined rule and performing a print work of the printer on the basis of the sent image data; an application processing unit for performing a predetermined process; and a storing unit for storing acquired multiple information related to specifications of the printer according to a predetermined rule after terminating an initializing process.

A digital media player is disclosed. The digital media player can permit one or a group of users to play digital media in a convenient and user-friendly manner. Typically, a memory card stores the digital media to be played by the digital media player. After the memory card is coupled to the digital media player, the digital media player can operate to play (e.g., view) or manipulate (e.g., zoom, rotate, delete, etc.) digital media. The digital media player can also operate to archive the digital media in a reduced resolution format.
