Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a number of customized sets of iron-type golf clubs selected from a relatively small number of clubs. SOLUTION: The multiple custom-fitted iron sets can be achieved by pivoting these sets off a common 6-iron. In a preferred embodiment, a portfolio of the club sets contains seventeen iron-type golf clubs, wherein the clubs are a blended collection of oversized cavity back-type clubs, mid-sized clubs and standard-sized muscle back-type clubs, which can be configured to create at least four custom-fitted iron sets pivoted off the common 6-iron. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal wood club or a driver club which has an efficient shape that meets all of size limits of USGA and increases a rotational moment of inertia in both the vertical and horizontal axes. SOLUTION: A club head 10 is provided with a truncated triangular or trapezoidal crown 12, and a skirt/side thereof is tapered from a hitting face 14 to a rear part 16. The distance from the hitting face 14 to the rear part 16 is 5 inches and the widest part 18 of the club head 10 is also 5 inches in width. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball or the like having improved impact resistance upon contact with a golf club by using modified silicone urea and/or silicone urethane polymer in golf equipment components. SOLUTION: This golf ball includes a core and a cover, wherein at least a part of the golf ball is formed of composition containing a first component containing silicon and urea linkage, urethane linkage or combination of urea linkage and urethane linkage and impact resistant polymer. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball using a polymer improved in bubble generation at the time of ball formation based on the moisture absorption characteristics of a highly neutralized ionomer and performance degradation in use. SOLUTION: The golf ball possesses at least one layer formed from a highly neutralized acid polymer composition with moisture resistance. The highly neutralized acid polymer composition is formed from a cation source selected from ions and compounds of lithium, ions and compounds of zinc and combinations of them. The golf balls include one piece, two-piece, multi-layer and wound golf balls. The composition may be present in any one or more of a core layer, a cover layer or an intermediate layer. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball having a high restitution coefficient even if an impact speed is slow or fast. SOLUTION: The golf ball comprises a core having a diameter of 0.5-1.4 inches, a compression of approximately 45 or lower and the restitution coefficient of 0.730-0.810, a cast polyurea cover, and an interlayer arranged between the core and the cover and having the thickness of 0.11 inches or greater and composed of highly neutralized composition having a water vapor transmission rate of 8 g-mil/100 in 2 /day or lower. Compression of approximately 70-100 is achieved by a combination of the core and the interlayer. The restitution coefficient of the golf ball is 0.805-0.820 when it is measured at an input speed of 125 ft/s. The restitution coefficient is 0.75 or greater when it is measured at an input speed of 160 ft/s, and the compression of the golf ball is 75-105. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball improved in a flying distance and a feeling for low swing-speed players. SOLUTION: The ball 10 has a relatively large solid inner core 12, with at least one solid outer core layer 16 surrounding the inner core 12, and a thin cover layer 18 surrounding the outer core layer 16. The inner core 12 is softer than the outer core 12, which in turn is softer than the cover 18. The ball is designed such that the coefficient of restitution (COR) gradient is from low to high; that is, the inner core 12 has a lower COR than the total core, which has a lower COR than the entire golf ball. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball material which contains a high level of oily substance, is easily manufactured at low cost, and is reduced in compression velocity. SOLUTION: The golf ball has at least one layer formed of a rubber composition comprising base rubber and an oily substance of 10 parts to 120 parts, by weight per 100 parts of the base rubber. The base rubber is a polybutadiene having a Mooney viscosity of 40 or greater. The rubber composition may be present in any one or more of a core layer, a cover layer, or an intermediate layer.
