    Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive formulation comprising lignin, suitable for use in the manufacture of for example wood products. The lignin is provided in the form of a solution or dispersion or in dry solid form, such as in the form of a powder. The adhesive formulation also comprises phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resin and/or lignin-phenol-formaldehyde (LPF) resin. The adhesive formulation may also comprise extenders, hardeners, fillers and other additives, to achieve an adhesive formulation useful in the manufacture of for example wood products, such as plywood and laminated veneer lumber (LVL). The adhesive formulation can also be used in the manufacture of laminates and oriented strand boards.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for fractionation of a highly refined cellulose pulp into a fine fraction and coarse fraction, said method comprising: a) providing a highly refined cellulose pulp suspension comprising highly refined cellulose pulp having a Schopper-Riegler (SR) number in the range of 40-98 as determined by standard ISO 5267-1 and a content of fibers having a length >0.2 mm of at least 7 million fibers per gram based on dry weight; b) subjecting the highly refined cellulose pulp suspension to dewatering in a belt filter; c) collecting the dewatered retentate as the coarse fraction; and d) collecting the filtrate as the fine fraction; wherein the collected fine fraction contains 2-50 wt % of the solids of the highly refined cellulose pulp suspension provided in step a).

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method to produce a linerboard exhibiting a high bending resistance and a high compression strength, which in turn provides high resistance to interflute buckling and sagging in a thereof formed corrugated board. This is achieved by the inventive combination of an optimized fiber refining level of the furnish in each layer of the linerboard, the separate formation of the top layer and the use of a multi-layer headbox to form the two-layered ply. In addition, the linerboard made according to the invention provides good printing properties in a thereof produced corrugated board, especially in flexographic printing, without the fluting structure being negatively affected.
