Abstract:
An umbrella apparatus having a canopy portion hingedly coupled to a pole portion. The umbrellas apparatus includes a rechargeable electrical power system that provides electrical power to an electromechanical opening and closing system and a light assembly. A solar energy system is conductively coupled to the rechargeable electrical power system and is utilized to collect and convert solar energy to electrical energy for recharging the electrical power system.
Abstract:
A system such as a foldable and unfoldable umbrella, sunshade, or parasol for protection against bad weather, includes: a pole (31), at least two bushes (12), two frames, two series of wind evacuation openings (8, 9), three mutually overlapping coverings (7, 10, 22) maintained by series of adjusters having a resilient core (20), and two safety springs (3, 4). At least two wind passages are defined by the second and third covering from a predetermined speed.
Abstract:
An outdoor shading device includes a supporting frame, a shading awning supported by the supporting frame to define a shading area underneath the shading awning, and a solar power system. The solar power system includes a solar collecting unit having a solar collecting surface overlapped on the shading awning for solar energy collection, and a power storage supported at the supporting frame to electrically connect to the solar collecting unit, wherein when the shading awning is orientated for providing shade from the sun, the solar collecting surface of the solar collecting unit is aligned with the direction of the sun to maximize the solar energy collection, such that after the solar energy is collected, the solar collecting unit converts the solar energy into electrical energy and stored in the power storage.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a shade and rain combination. The basic umbrella includes a shaft having at its top expending ribs with peripheral points at the ends of the ribs. A woven mesh cover is attached to the ribs and is extending to the peripheral points and attached thereto. The mesh cover protects a person under the umbrella from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun while at the same time allowing ventilating air to pass there through. In the event of rain a water proof cover may be placed over the mesh cover to prevent rain water from passing there through. The rain cover is fastened at each of ribs at their peripheral point thereof. The shaft of the umbrella can be fastened in an upright position at objects having different orientations, that is, vertical or horizontal. One surface of the rain cover is used to indicate an emergency by displaying a bright color or by displaying the emergency words “HELP” or “SOS”.
Abstract:
The invention as disclosed herein provides a ventilating umbrella that protects against sun, and/or rain. In particular, the umbrella contains a trunk, and at least one deployable canopy attached to the trunk. The canopy contains a plurality of leaf compartments made of synthetic leaves; and a plurality of splines, each of the splines having a distal end, a middle end, and a hinged end. The hinged end is attached to the trunk, and the distal end, middle end or both are attached to the leaf compartment.

Abstract:
A lawn or patio umbrella with an integral lighting system that utilizes cold cathode ray tubes, light emitting diodes (LED's), or florescent lights, to provide relatively bright outdoor light for reading and other activities that require relatively high light intensities is provided. In one embodiment, a modular, electrically powered lawn or patio umbrella in which lighting systems, such as those utilizing cold cathode tubes, LED's, or florescent lights; cooling systems, such as those utilizing electric fans or misting systems; and motorized retraction systems; can be selectively interchanged is provided.
Abstract:
A windbreak and air-ventilating folding umbrella includes a frame coupling with a linkage bar. The linkage bar has one end attached to a sleeve which is movable on the frame and another suspended to allow the linkage bar having open or close movement at the suspended end. The sleeve is formed in C-shape. There is an upper panel fastened to an anchor cap of the umbrella and the suspended end of the linkage bar, and a lower panel fastened to the rib of the umbrella. The upper panel and the lower panel have respectively a portion overlapped with each other. The umbrella thus constructed can shelter rainfall and shield sunshine, and also facilitate air ventilation, thus can prevent the umbrella from overturning in the strong wind, and is adaptable for ordinary or folding umbrellas.

Abstract:
A fan assembly for an umbrella including a first integrated sub-assembly clampable about an umbrella pole. The first integrated sub-assembly has a split collar surrounding the umbrella pole, a support housing on a lower end of the collar defining a drive ring support plate, and a motor housing enclosing a motor therein on an upper end of the collar spaced from the drive ring support plate. A second integrated sub-assembly is rotatably disposable about the collar and the umbrella pole and includes a drive ring having a lower surface which is supported by the drive ring support plate of the support housing, a drive ring drive mechanism, and a plurality of fan blades coupled to the drive ring.
