The polymer composition contains polyethylene particles combined with a plasticizer and one or more strength enhancing additives. Polymer articles made in accordance with the present disclosure have enhanced strength properties. In one embodiment, the polymer composition is used to form a porous membrane for use as a separator in electronic devices.

Abstract: Disclosed is a composite comprising: from about 50 wt. % to about 99 wt. % of a thermoplastic resin, wherein the thermoplastic resin comprises a polyester; and from about 0.1 wt. % to 15 wt. % of a carbon fiber filler, wherein the carbon fiber has a bulk density of at least 500 g/l and a volume electrical resistivity of less than 2,000 μΩ#cm, with individual filaments that have a length-to-diameter ratio of at least 300, wherein a 3.175 mm thick molded sample of the composite exhibits a Transmission of less than 15% of incident microwave radiation when observed according to a Free Space method, measured at frequencies of 75 to 110 GHz, wherein the combined weight percent value of all components does not exceed 100 wt. %, and all weight percent values are based on the total weight of the composite.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to compositions and compounded compositions including polyamide and a maleated polyolefin, articles formed from the same such as extruded or molded articles, and methods of making the compositions and articles. A composition includes a condensation polyamide that is at least 30 wt % of the composition and that is the predominant polyamide in the composition. The composition also includes from ≥10 wt % to ≤50 wt % of a maleic anhydride grafted polyolefin having a grafted maleic anhydride incorporation of ≥0.05 to ≤1.5 wt % based on total weight of the maleated polyolefin.

The peroxide formulations may include, for example, one or more compounds selected from sulfur-containing compounds, organophosphite compounds, HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer) compounds, aliphatic allyl urethane compounds, and blends comprising nitroxides (e.g., 4-hydroxy-TEMPO) and quinones (e.g., mono-tert-butylhydroquinone).

Abstract: The combination of one or more phosphorus-containing flame retardant compounds as described herein with at least one brominated flame retardant compound provides an effective flame retardant additive for thermoplastic polymers without requiring the use of antimony trioxide. Flame retardant thermoplastic compositions are therefore provided containing at least one thermoplastic polymer, at least one brominated flame retardant, and at least one phosphorus-containing flame retardant as described herein. The compositions are useful for a wide range of applications, such as for electrical and electronic applications.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a composition comprising: an epoxy-containing component, elastomeric particles in an amount of greater than 11% by weight to 25% by weight based on total weight of the composition; and a curing component activatable by an external energy source, the curing component comprising at least one guanidine having a D90 particle size of 25 μm measured by dynamic light scattering. Also disclosed is the composition in an at least partially cured state. Also disclosed is a method for treating a substrate comprising applying the composition to a surface of a substrate; and applying an external energy source to cure the composition. Also disclosed are substrates comprising the composition. Also disclosed are substrates formed by the method of the present invention.
