Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
A block (11) formed with a mold (10) integral thereto. The mold (10) is constructed as a mold top half (12) and a mold bottom half (14) and filled in situ with cement (16). The mold halves (12, 14) are constructed with respective socket and channel structures (24, 20) to capture an enlarged end (38) of a connector (34) for interlocking one block to a neighboring block. The resulting block (11) constitutes a one-piece block that can be formed at the installation site using the two-part mold (10). The interlocked blocks are prevented from removal when moved in either lateral direction, or in the vertical direction.
Abstract:
A paving stone (10) for use in the construction of stone floors, patios and the like, the stone consisting of a monolithic block being generally fish-like in shape having a head section (12) and a tail section (14). The head and tail sections are generally octagonal in shape and are separated by a v-shaped groove (16) provided in the surface of the stone. A bevel (40) is provided around the perimeter of the stone, the bevel being shaped-like one half of the v-shaped groove, so that when one stone is placed next to a neighboring stone the bevel of each stone acts together to form a v-shaped groove identical to the v-shaped groove contained in surface of the stone.
Abstract:
In contrast to known sub-flooring systems, this flooring material with means for connection on the underside consists of environmentally friendly individual units which interconnect via separate and removable connectors and are simple to replace. Each unit of flooring material (1) exhibits recesses (2) located along its perimeter into which the connecting members (3) can be inserted and removed from above to link and unlink other units of flooring material (1). The formations are in the form of thin-walled webs which form supports (5) as side border (17) at the corners (18) and centrally between the corners, as well as in the middle of the flooring material (1), and in between are formed into reduced height reinforcing ribs.
Abstract:
To improve the flow-off of liquids from the laying pattern and mechanical laying in a concrete paving block, the ground area of the body (1) of the block has a rectangular shape formed by three squares (2, 3, 4) of equal size, the upright side surfaces of the body (1) extend evenly transversely to the ground area and each side surface of the body (1) has at least one projecting strip-like extension (5) which can be supported in the pattern with the formation of seams on adjacent bodies (1) and form interlocks or the like with extensions (5) of adjacent bodies (1).
Abstract:
A four sided tile (1), particularly for paving, flooring or cladding comprises a first side edge (2), a second slide edge (3) parallel with and shorter than the first side edge (2), and third and fourth side edges (4, 5) which are not parallel. The length of the shorter side edges (3, 4, 5) is the same and the sum of their length is equal to the length of the larger side (2). The side edges (2, 3, 4, 5) are preferably curved with radii of equal length.
Abstract:
The invention is based on a flat moulded concrete slab, especially for liquid-proof ground coverage. In dealing with substances, especially liquids, which are harmful to the ground, the intention is to prevent their further spread in the event of egress, spillage, outflow or the like. The concrete slab (10) of the invention is divided into sections (13) by dummy joints (12) in grid array. The dummy joints (12) act as drainage channels so that any liquid running out can run off via the dummy joints (12) and the surfaces of the sections (13) remain largely liquid free. This prevents the liquid from being further distributed by the passage of pedestrians or vehicles over the concrete slab (10).
Abstract:
A paving block is made up, as seen in plan, of two connected portions (10, 12) one portion (10) comprising four connected substantially identical quadrants (14-17) and the other portion (12) having an inside-out pillow shape defined substantially by four arcuate surfaces. The curvature of each surface is substantially the same as that of the curved boundary of any one of the quadrants (14-17). Such a block may have various proportions, and may be made to various dimensions. However it is preferred for the blocks to be of such a size and weight that one can readily be held in one hand. This simplifies and makes less expensive the process of laying the blocks. Such blocks when laid have improved structural stability.
Abstract:
A set of shaped bricks for paving with broad joints (50) between the bricks, in which: (a) the set of shaped bricks has first bricks (4) with a larger area in plan and second bricks (6) with a smaller area in plan; and (b) only one of the two kinds of brick (4; 6) have several integral projecting spacers (8) around their periphery to form the broad joints (50).
