Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling system for an energy transmitting device.SOLUTION: A cooling system 1000 for an energy transmitting device includes a reservoir connection assembly 100 and a long member 101. The long member includes a first lumen and a second lumen that are in fluid communication with the reservoir 200. The first lumen includes an outflow port and the second lumen includes a return port, each being in fluid communication with the reservoir. The system further includes a piping system 400 having a first edge part and a second edge part. The first edge part is connected to the outflow port so that they are in fluid communication with each other, and the second edge part is in fluid communication with the return port. The second edge part is configured so as to return the fluid to the reservoir. The piping system is connected to the energy transmitting device so as to cool the fluid.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector assembly and a fluid system including the connector assembly, and to make fluid connections.SOLUTION: A connector assembly 100 includes first and second connector bodies 101, 102, a coupling mechanism arranged to couple the connector bodies at the first ends of the bodies, a moveable hollow piston 103, and a moveable actuator 104. The hollow piston moves from a first position to a second position in response to movement of the actuator from a first position to a second position. In the second position the hollow piston is sealed to the interiors of first and second connector bodies.
Abstract:
A seal (11, 12) around the central opening (8) in a coupling device (4, 5) contains a cavity (16, 17) with a volume which is reduced when the coupling devices are pressed together to form the connection, causing the gas inside to become pressurised and result in the removal of the protective films (13) covering these openings. - A method for providing a contamination-proof and/or sterile seal between at least two interconnectable coupling devices containing central openings for allowing a fluid to flow through them after they have been connected together comprises providing a seal on each coupling device around its central opening and covering each opening with a protective film which is removed when the two devices are connected together. At least one seal contains one or more cavities which extend partly or completely around the opening and contain a gas volume (18). When the seals are pressed together during connection of the two devices, the volume of these cavities is reduced, pressurising the gas inside them, which causes the films to be removed quickly by a flow of gas that prevents any contamination entering the connection. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for the connection device.
