Abstract:
The present applications at least describes a method of making a tuned ceramic filter. The method includes printing an oversized pattern of ceramic material on a ceramic filter. The method also include removing, at a first tune location of the ceramic filter, a first amount of the ceramic material using a laser to shrink the oversized pattern. The method also includes comparing a coupling matrix of the ceramic filter after the removing step with a coupling matrix of a prototype of the ceramic filter. The method includes a step of generating a tune vector based upon a difference between the coupling matrix of the ceramic filter and the coupling matrix of the prototype filter. Further, the method includes a step of iteratively modifying the removing of the ceramic material using femto-second laser at the first tune location to have a coefficient of the tune vector corresponding to the first tune location to converge toward zero.
Abstract:
A flat cable high-frequency filter includes a dielectric substrate extending in a transmission direction of a high-frequency signal. The dielectric substrate includes dielectric layers stacked on each other. Elongated conductor patterns are provided on a flat surface of one dielectric layer which faces another dielectric layer. The conductor patterns are as wide as possible in the dielectric substrate in accordance with a desired inductance. A capacitive coupling conductor pattern opposes one conductor pattern by a predetermined area with a dielectric layer therebetween. By using a connecting conductor, the capacitive coupling conductor pattern is connected to the conductor pattern which does not oppose the capacitive coupling conductor pattern.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a waveguide E-plane filter component comprising a first and second main part (2) with a corresponding first and second waveguide section part (3). The main parts (2) are mounted to each other, such that a waveguide arrangement is formed. The waveguide arrangement has a height and a width. The waveguide E-plane filter component further comprises at least one electrically conducting foil (10, 11) that is placed between the main parts (3), said foil comprising a filter part (25) with apertures (12a, 12b, 12c, 12d). Each pair of adjacent apertures is separated by a corresponding foil conductor (13a, 13b, 13c) of which at least one is constituted by a tuning foil conductor (13a) that has a first, second and third part (14, 16, 18) with a corresponding first, second and third width (15, 17, 19).
Abstract:
A transverse magnetic (TM) mode dielectric filter includes an enclosure, a dielectric resonator, a main cover, and an elastic component, where the dielectric resonator is disposed in a resonant cavity of the enclosure; the main cover is secured between the elastic component and an open end of the enclosure; the elastic component includes multiple elastic flaps; the multiple elastic flaps are evenly distributed around an axial direction of the dielectric resonator; one end of each of the elastic flaps is fixedly connected to the main cover, and free ends of the elastic flaps elastically act on a central part of an outer surface of the main cover, to provide an elastic force towards the dielectric resonator. The evenly distributed multiple elastic flaps produce a pressure towards the dielectric resonator. A uniform and stable pressure is produced around the dielectric resonator, to ensure a uniform current density inside the resonant cavity.
Abstract:
In wireless communications, many radio frequency bands are used. For each frequency band, there are two frequencies, one for transmitting and the other for receiving. As the band widths are small and separation between adjacent bands is also small, many band pass filters with different band pass frequencies are required for each communication unit such as mobile handset. The invention provides tunable film bulk acoustic resonators TFBARs containing semiconducting piezoelectric layers and methods for tuning and adjusting the resonant properties. When a DC biasing voltage is varied, both the depletion region thickness and neutral region thickness associated in the semiconducting piezoelectric layers varies leading to changes in equivalent capacitances, inductance and resistances and hence the resonance properties and frequencies. A plurality of the present TFBARs are connected into a tunable oscillator or a tunable and selectable microwave filter for selecting and adjusting of the bandpass frequency by varying the biasing voltages.

Abstract:
A Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG) tuned band reject filter using one or more Shunt YIG resonators provides for much wider minimum rejection bandwidths without increasing maximum 3 db bandwidths or spurious response. Various configurations of a tunable shunt YIG tuned band reject filter achieves a wide rejection bandwidth at the low end of the tuning range while keeping the maximum 3 db bandwidth, normally occurring at the high end of the tuning range, to a minimum.
