Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of quality of products such as the generation of a waste and a defective by accurately manufacturing the shape characteristic of a flat belt-like material. SOLUTION: In this transferring roll 1 for moving a practically flat and belt-like material from one device to other device, the belt-like material is passed through the transferring roll by the rotation of the transferring roll. The transferring roll including a flat and smooth outer surface of a cylinder includes at east two cylindrical members, and a means 7 for reducing the mechanical rigidity of the cylinder surface 2 is arranged between the cylindrical members. As a desirable means, a connection part 9 having a cross section formed thinner than other parts of the cylinder is used. Such means mechanically divides the cylinder into plural areas having the crosstalk in a predetermined range. This transferring roll is used to measure the tensile force and the force of the belt-like material more accurately than a conventional device.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a flow of molten steel in a mold by applying at least one magnetic field to the molten steel in a continuous slab casting machine.SOLUTION: This is achieved by comprising controlling a molten steel flow velocity on a molten steel bath surface, meniscus 9, to a predetermined molten steel flow velocity by applying a static magnetic field to impart a stabilizing and braking force to a discharge flow from an immersion nozzle 4 when the molten steel flow velocity on the meniscus is higher than a mold powder entrainment critical flow velocity and by controlling the molten steel flow velocity on the meniscus 9 to a range of from an inclusion adherence critical flow velocity or more to a mold powder entrainment critical flow velocity or less by applying a shifting magnetic field 7 to increase the molten steel flow when the molten steel flow velocity on the meniscus 9 is lower than the inclusion adherence critical flow velocity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user with various kinds of tools, especially a tool holder capable of applying a spot welding gun to the tool holder. SOLUTION: An industrial robot comprises a plurality of robot arms 4, 5 which are movable in relation to each other and support a tool holder 6a. The tool holder 6a comprises an output shaft journal 8 to which a turning disc 7 is attached. To cause electrical insulation between a tool applied to the tool holder and the robot, an insulating layer is arranged between the turning disc 7 and the shaft journal 8. An automatic configuration system for an operator console wherein one or more operators control and monitor physical facilities, operations or physically dispersed services. The system includes wearable personal identification devices worn by the operators and a control unit for communicating with the wearable personal identification devices in order to detect the presence of one or more operators within a defined control room area. Each personal identification device includes a sensor unit for monitoring operator data, and is adapted to communicate the operator data to the control unit, which is adapted to configure the operator console based on the operator data.
Abstract:
An electrical room housing electrical and electronic apparatus for operating and controlling electrical motors of an industrial equipment is disclosed. The electrical room includes a cooling device with a first heat exchanger which is arranged with a first set of channels through which is conducted a first flow of air drawn from inside the electrical room. Warm air from inside the electrical room is circulated through the first heat exchanger of the cooling device and returned to the electrical room in a closed loop, and the air temperature in the electrical room is controlled dependent on a setpoint of between 24-40° C. A method for controlling the cooling device to cool the electrical room and one or more computer programs arranged for controlling the cooling device are also described.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product enhance the commercial value of electrical power produced from a wind turbine production facility. Features include the use of a premier power conversion device that provides an alternative source of power for supplementing an output power of the wind turbine generation facility when lull periods for wind speed appear. The invention includes a communications infrastructure and coordination mechanism for establishing a relationship with another power production facility such that when excess electrical power is produced by the wind turbine facility, the excess may be provided to the power grid while the other energy production facility cuts back on its output production by a corresponding amount. A tracking mechanism keeps track of the amount of potential energy that was not expended at the other facility and places this amount in a virtual energy storage account, for the benefit of the wind turbine facility. When, the wind turbine power production facility experiences a shortfall in its power production output it may make a request to the other source of electric power, and request that an increase its power output on behalf of the wind turbine facility. This substitution of one power production facility for another is referred to herein as a virtual energy storage mechanism. Furthermore, another feature of the present invention is the use of a renewal power exchange mechanism that creates a market for trading renewable units of power, which have been converted into nullpremier powernull and/or nullguaranteednull by secondary sources of power source to provide a reliable source of power to the power grid as required by contract.
