The present invention provides β-methyl carbapenem compounds and pharmaceutical compositions useful in the treatment of bacterial infections and methods for treating such infections using such compounds and/or compositions, wherein the compounds are generally of the Formulae The invention includes administering an effective amount of a carbapenem compound or salt and/or prodrug thereof to a host in need of such a treatment. The present invention is also in the field of synthetic organic chemistry and is specifically provides an improved method of synthesis of ÿ-methyl carbapenems which are useful as antibacterial agents.

The invention relates to a method (S10) for optimizing the characteristics of a tunnel boring machine, particularly a tunnel boring machine of the slurry pressure or VD type, said method comprising the following steps: S0: determining a ground/machine interaction model, S11: instantaneous measurement of the set of specific boring parameters of the tunnel boring machine, S13: determining the group of individuals corresponding to the boring parameters measured in step S11 by means of the ground/machine interaction model, S14: optimizing the characteristics of the tunnel boring machine as a function of the group of individuals thus determined.

In order to make a connection between the fibers of an optical transmission line, the end portion of each fiber is centered in a connector terminal by means of a reference dihedron. The terminal is applied against the faces of the dihedron at one end. The other end of the dihedron is fitted with a set of two packing-blocks and two cylinders for positioning the optical fiber in the bisecting plane in a direction parallel to the edge of the dihedron. The fiber is finally fixed in position by means of a suitable adhesive.

This invention provides an optical fibers bundles connector comprising a male member and a female member which can be plugged into one another. In one of these members is included a single fiber of the same diameter as the bundles which are to be connected, which distributes the luminous flux issuing from the emitter bundle to the receiver bundle. An embodiment having the external dimensions of "Socapex 072 NX 65" electrical connectors is specially described.

The invention concerns a method for connecting a cellular mobile terminal (10) to a server (21, 22, 23) to deliver a hot line involving locating the terminal (10). The invention is characterized in that it includes the following steps: the mobile terminal (10) transmits to the server (21, 22, 23) delivering the hot lint, a request for connection (1) to the hot line; the mobile terminal (10) also transmits to the server (21) a useful information (4) for the server (21, 22, 23) delivering the hot line so as to transmit to the mobile terminal (10) a content corresponding to the connection request, the useful information (4) being determined based on a locating information contained in the mobile terminal (10).

The invention relates to a method for downloading a digital file by a user, from a content server to a mobile terminal via a mobile telecommunication network, said method consisting of the following steps: the mobile terminal is connected to the server via the network; the file is downloaded from the server to the terminal in such a way that it is encrypted as a background task; and the file is presented to the user once the downloading has been completed. The inventive method is characterised in that: it comprises another step, before the connection step, for checking that the current time belongs to a pre-determined time slot; mechanisms for controlling the interruption of the downloading are set up, said mechanisms enabling partial versions of the file to be saved on the terminal and to then download only the missing part in the event of an interruption; the bandwidth is monitored in real time and triggers the temporary suspension of the downloading as required; and the acceptance of the content by the user once the file has been presented after being downloaded triggers the emission of an acceptance message from the terminal to the server, and the return transmission, from the server to the terminal, of a decryption message enabling the terminal to decrypt and read the downloaded file. The invention also relates to a system for carrying out the inventive method.
