The invention relates to a device for controlling the operation of a spreading apparatus of a spreading vehicle (1) for winter road maintenance, comprising a data transmission apparatus (100), which is provided in the spreading vehicle and which is designed to establish a wireless data connection, and which is designed to receive forecast data regarding weather conditions and/or transportation route conditions from a server, in particular via the Internet, an apparatus (101) for determining transportation route conditions, which is mounted in or on the spreading vehicle and is designed to determine surface parameters of a transportation route, and a control unit (102), which is designed to receive the forecast data from the data transmission apparatus (100) and to process said forecast data and to control the operation of the spreading apparatus on the basis of the processed forecast data and the determined surface parameters.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Gefriertemperatur eines Eis-Wasser-Gemischs auf einer Straßenoberfläche, das umfasst: Bereitstellen von Referenzmessungen von Eis-zu-Wasser-Verhältnissen in Abhängigkeit von Straßentemperaturen für unterschiedliche Salzgehalte von Referenz-Eis-Wasser-Gemischen; Ermitteln einer Dicke einer Wasserschicht auf der Straßenoberfläche; Ermitteln einer Dicke einer Eisschicht auf der Straßenoberfläche; Bestimmen eines Eis-zu-Wasser-Verhältnisses des Eis-Wasser-Gemisches aus der ermittelten Dicke der Wasserschicht und der ermittelten Dicke der Eisschicht; Ermitteln der Temperatur der Straßenoberfläche; und Bestimmen der Gefriertemperatur des Eis-Wasser-Gemisches aus dem bestimmten Eis-zu-Wasser-Verhältnis und der ermittelten Temperatur mithilfe der bereitgestellten Referenzmessungen.

The invention relates to a device for measuring the thickness of deposits on a surface, especially deposits of water or ice. The inventive device is characterized by a device for transmitting radar signals through the layer to be measured, a device for receiving the radar signals reflected by the interface of deposits facing away from the surface, and a device for determining the thickness of the deposits on the basis of a phase comparison of the radar signals emitted by the transmitter device and the radar signals received by the receiver device. The invention further relates to a device for measuring the thickness of the deposits on a surface, especially deposits of water or ice, by way of a dielectric resonator that is open in the direction of the deposits to be measured, an evaluation unit coupled to the dielectric resonator and supplying the dielectric resonator with a variable frequency, a detection unit for detecting the amplitude of the dielectric resonator depending on the supplied frequency, and a device for detecting the thickness of the deposits on the basis of the detected amplitude of the dielectric resonator and the supplied frequency. The invention further relates to a control unit for a defrost device having a corresponding device and a device that emits a signal to the defrost device for initiating its operation, if the device has detected that the deposits are ice. The invention further relates to the use of one of the above-mentioned devices for determining the depth of precipitation of water, ice and/or snow on a road surface, or for measuring the thickness of ice layers on the blades of wind turbines, or for measuring the thickness of ice layers on the airfoils of aircraft.

A method of and device for checking hygrometers and hygrostats, according to which the hygrometer or hygrostat is at its place of mounting checked by means of a reference device, such as a reference hygrometer directly indicating the air humidity. The reference hygrometer is first by means of a corresponding saturated solution calibrated to a standard climate corresponding to the operational climate (Betriebsklima) with regard to the relative humidity, and subsequently at the place of mounting of the device to be checked. The reference hygrometer is together with the hygrometer to be checked exposed to the same conditions. After the reference device has been adapted to the operational conditions (Betriebsbedingungen), the device to be checked is equalized with the reference device.
